Grand Island, NE – Members of Team Hornady® eagerly began the competition season with strong finishes in the fourteenth annual Florida Open Pistol Shooting Tournament, held February 17- 19, 2012 at the Universal Shooting Academy. Blake Miguez finished second in the Limited Division and Max Michel finished second in the Open Division.

Fellow Team Hornady® members Tony Gimmellie and Kevin Drake won the 2012 Pasquotank Precision Rifle Shootout on February 18, 2012 in Elizabeth, North Carolina. Competing amongst thirty teams comprised of military and law enforcement personnel and civilian shooters, competitors ran seven stages that required shooting at barricades with multiple ports and from various positions including, kneeling, shooting over a van and sitting in a simulated snipers hide. In Gimmellie’s winning performance, he shot Hornady® .243 caliber 105 grain BTHP bullets and Drake shot Hornady® factory loaded 165 grain SST in 300 RCM.
