Thought I would share some Pictures of this years NDIA show, Sniper Rifle systems have really come of age with companies such as Ashbury International and Remington MPD.
Several of the event speakers myself being one briefed the entire body of the importance of these new sniper systems going into Afganistan with its terrain aand potential longer range aquisition's.
ACCURATE-MAG has been extremly busy finalizing these new magazine systems for both Ashbury and Remington MPD, both rifle systems have incredible feature level to them:
This is tne MSR (Modular Sniper Rifle) it has a quick change barrel and can accomadate 308 to 338 CIP AP2 its magazine can accomadate diffrent length cartradiges they are true DSSF for 338 and 300WM:

The new REM 700LA stock featuring DSSF magazines for 338CIP and 300WM

I must say it was extremly well attended Badger Ordnance was there and a lot of Military people reviewed his new action with a lot of positive comments. Mostly American Companies no overseas rifle companies where present.

Yes they had some big stuff there also:

Next to the Rem MPD Display tent which they really appreciated when it fired it was like a small sand storm.
Displays:

Hope you enjoyed,

The Bolt release is still standard or in the same place at the trigger, I believe that is a short piece of Rail for some type of mount. I posted the wrong picture that is the Short action 308 rifle in Picture #2. I will post the long action tonight.

That is an excellent looking chassis system. I would love to see them adopt something like this. I only wish they would go with a longer magwell and magazine with a 4.0 internal length. Whether it ends up the 338LM or 338NM, they are engineering it around the 300 SMK (or 300 Scenar). I makes it hard to incorporate new projectile technology down the road when you are already limited to CIP length. Being very familiar with the Navy's Mk13 and all the problems, issues with it, this chassis system would eliminate 90% plus of all the issues.

Irs,
I believe the new MSR Bolt Stroke and Mag well are 4.200" just for that reason the 338CIP AP2 is a very long projectile past SAMI or CIP length.

And does the scope in the first and second pictures on the Remington site look like a Leupold with different turrets? It does to me. I know, who cares, but they look better than M1's, but dont look like zero stop M2 or M3. ?

I've shot the heck out of those rifles and like them a lot. I also like the fact that industry has listened to the need for folders in tactical long guns. After truing it ballistically with a PDA program I was using, I was able to shoot consecutive head shots at 1207 with the Remington. I did not shoot as well at night on a runner. I would have thought that neck shot would put any beast down.

Forty-one,

What do you think of the stock folding to the strong side and locking the bolt into the closed position?

Wasn't it one of the Marine requirements for the chassis contract was, that the rifle be fired with the stock folded? I dont know if this was built to go after the Marine contract or not. I just think that with this much effort into the rifle, they would consider that. Maybe that contract request is old news. ?

I love the look of the gun though, very versatile. Forward thinking for sure.

Forty0ne:

You shot the pig in the ARSE! Let me Know it was a dead run at 1000YDS, you where going for a head shot with Kentucky windage and Missouri Drop, and the Boar was traveling at close to 60MPH but you still killed it with one shot.
I new I was correct, nice kill sir with the state of the art weapon, nice to be on the inside.
