Urban 5-30 meters

My 2 cents

ARPAT ACU UCP at 50 meters was very very hard to see, at 200 meters it would not be detected

Multicam at 50 meters was still visable the only way to blend in Urban would be to have enough vegetation to hide into so in down town areas it would not work and would be detected as far as the eye could see.

Over all I think ACU takes it in Urban

Looks like it definitely has the edge on pavement. Too much green in Multicam for urban use.

There is no doubt that ACU holds the ground on grey coloured surfaces. I was particularly impressed at ACU on [gravel] logging roads. It just disappears.

It did not fair well in desert test either.
I don't get the hype behind it. I have to admit it works well in dry vegetation or dry open field but other then that it does not blend in multiple environments.

The best urban camo is jeans and a tshirt.

if you want to get your ass killed then go stand in the middle of a combat zone wearing that and let me know how things turn out.

governments around the world have spend millions to be able to blend in Urban combat zones, when the rounds start fling you are going to be the only one standing there wearing a white shirt, I would be underneath a car blending in with the street firing away not been detected.

I can tell you from personal experience, ACU does not blend in with anything in Southern Baghdad. Unless you want to low crawl on the pavement, but it's covered in tan moon dust most of the time.

In an Urban environment, they already know where you are.

So I am testing and getting feedback.

If they are 200 meters away coming in they don't or in future wars when there will be drones and other spy equipment with be flying around. There is not a single capital that is not in an urban environment.

I love looking at these threads, thanks for taking the time to do it, ACU certainly is impressive but as has been mentioned it is terrible on some occaisions, there is no wholly universal design that works anywhere I guess.

There are some european patterns you should look at, German flecktarn is an interesting one as is swedish splinter design

someone could cut eyeholes in the clorox bottle and wear that over the head. or make a boonie out of the old tire. grin

if i was hiding in a wide open parking lot with no cover, i might give one of those a try.

I think the main threat in an Urban environment is when you are having to cross the street, you can be seen blocks away, ACU would not be detected past 200 yards! From a bird or any kind of drove flying over head.

ACU is made for blend in with Urban/Night Vision.
Does an ok job in desert and ok in woodland.

It makes sense to me. I know it does not work as well as Marpat in woodland nor as well as desert but over all it scores high.
It would make sense if you were planning on been in multiple environments in one mission but if you were going to be in desert or woodland for a long period of time then Marpat wood and desert would be a better Idea. I think we need all three patterns.

I dont think that flecktarn is going to work in that savannah type environment that you are using to take the pics, over here it works very well

if work good here when there is enough light, the problem with dark camo is when it's under a tree canopy it goes black
