I gave them my email address and now I'm flooded with spam from every corner of the internet. Fake designer watches, Viagra, you name it. About 60+ spams/day now. The kind that are hard to filter.

Yes, I'm certain Boyd's is the culprit. If you give them your email address, you should expect them to distribute it to spammers.

I can't even get them to quit spamming me themselves, each of the half dozen requests I've sent over the past several weeks has bounced back, refused by their server. They spam me, but refuse to accept my emails.

I ask everyone who hates spammers to join me in boycotting Boyd's, and please spread the word that if you want a mailbox full of spam, just get on Boyd's email list.

Absolutely. I read that and believed it before I gave them my address.

They also say they'll unsubscribe you from their mailing list at your request. But in my case at least their server has been bouncing my cancel requests back for several weeks, it's not just a server down for maintenance.

Well get yourself on that spam list and have a look for yourself.

There are times that you'll get this stuff because yoru ISP is being slammed.

They will send email to a@isp.com, then to aa@isp.com up to b@isp.com bb@isp.com etc etc.

Sooner or later real email addresses come through, and it only takes 200-300 thousand spams to get to you.


If you post online, the spam bots pick it up from forums etc, which is why people put myname - at - my isp dot - com

I may create a fake email addy tonight and do that test.

Once they sell it to someone, and they all do - this is my study this week - the "Free' lunch on theinternet is not free, but once they sell it the person that buys it sells it and you have no control on their privacy policy so it doesn't matter if they promise to only share it with their trusted 3rd party advertisers etc.


Just use a spam email addy, I do - it has 500 emails and I"ve never read a single one - box is full.

Occasionally I'll need it for an order I'll place so I'll nuke all emails, order, get my email and not log back in for a couple of months or five....

As far as the public address given in my profile, that is indeed a valid address. That's the one I give out when I don't care fuck-all who sees it. Had I not been foolish enough to trust Boyd's to honor their stated privacy policy, I'd have given them that one instead. But I don't check it all that often. If I trust someone and I'd like to know right away when they're trying to contact me, I give them my ISP email address, such as I did when registering for this forum.

I need to revisit this - create an email addy, and then go to Boyds..

I was looking at M1903A3 stocks and someone suggested Boyds but 2 people have told me they had to spend hours fitting their rifles, the specs were wrong, blah blha.

Then I order from CMP only to find out they are supplied by Boyds but more work is done on them at CMP...

If they do give it out, I"ll know, I can create a gazillion email addresses...

I've bought stuff from Boyds and all I get is their email deals from time to time. No spam.

I DON'T HAVE A FUCKING ACCOUNT! I never had an account. But I did give them my email. Bad move on my part. Now I get spam from them and from everyone they gave my email to.

I have tried many times to "unsub", to their spams at least, by following their instructions- ie. respond with so-and-so in the subject, blah blah blah...and every time the email bounces back to me as "refused by server".
