Not really sure where to post this. I don't think fit the 'fieldcraft' topic.

I am looking for help on how to paint a good camo pattern on a 4x8 surface.

Please note that I have ABSOLUTELY NO artistic skills. So this "just freehand" something isn't going to work with me.

Any ideas on templates? Good patterns?

Basically, I've acquired some 4x8 sheets of thin plastic that I want to put on the exterior of my deer blind (they are black now). I would like to put a pattern on them.

It would be really cool to do a big digi pattern, but I think that is beyond my capability. However, the old woodland pattern that use to be on things like our 5 tons and hummers would be kind of cool. But I think that would require drawing skills, of which I have none.

So, any help would be appreciated as I am clueless on this.

Thanks

Paint them with a base coat of tan. Toss sticks, leaves, grass or whatever it laying around the blind on the sheets and spray over them with a darker brown and green (if things are green in your AO during hunting season. This should give you a better camo than a large version of the traditional patterns. Quick, cheap and easy. That's how I did my IRA-10D:

I've been thinking about a blind myself. Those are some good points. I may have to try that myself.

I would start with a uniform coat of gray primer.

I would take a whipped butter cupful of light green, rust brown, and black, and alternatively dip a synthetic 'natural style' sponge in one color at a time and dab it at random over the gray.

All these colors are available as vinyl latex exterior wall paint, and that's what I'd use. Flats work fine, satin's OK, gloss, maybe not.
