Was this the same can on different rifles, or different manufacturer's cans?
edit: nevermind, appears to be different cans from your last post.

What is the criteria for passing and failing? And with 6 rounds in 2 minutes, I don't see any suppressor failing. ...just a different test....there is all sorts of bandwidth on sound & sound meters....and go fast QD muzzle brake attach blah blah blah....but what really happens is , suppressors turn noise into heat.......and making a can (and everyone is doing it)...is like cooking pasta....you toss it up on the wall...if it sticks , its ready to serve....but in the suppressor game, sometimes a baffle design and heat build-up sometimes just plain SUCK ASS....and don't dissipate the heat....which leads to pressure differential, which lead to......(boltripper could be talking out of his ass).... at the end of the day consistency rules....we found one can that performed superior by design........hint,Boltripper sometimes quotes himself.

Self-quoting onesself not necessary. You have become predictable. My non-scientific, purely subjective testing agrees.
Which can was it than lasted only a few rounds?

Im cruious as to what all these temps were compared to.
All that I can see is various calibers and various cans ..... but no two alike to compare them to anything else.
Just cause one can only heats up X number of degrees doesnt mean shit if you dont have anything to compare against. Where is the contorl can?

May Shark and Tigershark were tested with factory black hills 175 on a 26 inch barrel and metered 135/136 DB's...PS other cans were not shot on the same rifle. huge difference
DB meters are quite subjective too. The tones all sound different..Plus stand 50 feet away you can really hear the difference and you dont need a meter for that.

This post makes no sense. What exactly is the test and what exactly is passing and failing?

I'd be really interested to see the same cans after 10 rounds on the same rifle. I'm sure David could whip up a couple of thread adapters fairly cheap.

I'd be really interested to see the same cans after 10 rounds on the same rifle. I'm sure David could whip up a couple of thread adapters fairly cheap. Why would you swap rifles? Why not use multiple cans on the same rifle? Simply using the same cans on different rifles shows nothing. If you are comparing cans then you need multiple cans of the same caliber to be used on the same host weapon. Simply shooting one can on different rifles in different calibers shows absolutely nothing. How can you compare the heat generated by a 5.56 to that of a 300wm? How much more powder is burning in a 300wm than in a 5.56, hell I would expect the heat of 6 rounds from a 300wm to be hotter than 6 rounds of 5.56 on any gun. The only thing this test "proves" is that a can gets hot when you shoot a bullet thru it.

Don't do that- this is interesting stuff. It's just hard to see what's going on the way it was presented.

That really shows a lot for this "test" that you did. Im still trying to figure out just what this test proves.

The tests that Todd ran with his thermal imager were very interesting. It showed which cans heated up the fastest with the fewest rounds. After each shot you could tell the temperatures on the cans and which one's did not heat up as much. The hotter they get, the more mirage you get off the can when looking through the scope. So, this is pretty important when considering a can.

And then he didnt say just what can was what ..... so it was hard to use this test as anyting onther than pics of cans after they had been used.
