Maggie’s Any golfers?

Nice, I'm not a golfer but have had to take a real interest in it lately since my youngest son is getting into it and don't want to be a total uneducated noob on the topic.
I also get to get out for some addition exercise being his caddy carrying his golf bag and clubs around ??

Gophers?!?!?

This is pretty awesome. I actually have a habit of driving down to the range and then on my way back home stopping to play 9 holes because the way I take to get home brings me past a course I like.

I practically grew up on my Grandfather’s 9 hole course in the Poconos. Since he passed I haven’t played much, but every now and again I’ll go out and take a few swings and swigs in his memory.

Tried it a few times as a kid.
Played golf cart polo. That was fun!

We de-goverened my buddies step dad’s gas powered cart.
Then rolled it messing around.

Was not allowed to play golf after that......

Nowadays I would want one of the AR golf ball launchers and some blanks.

My future FIL plays a bit. More tennis (just moved from USTA level 4 to 3.5 and 74.5 yrs old). We talk about going but I prefer to just hang out, eat BBQ, and have beers then whiskey for dessert.

My first game was in Death Valley when a friend and I walked onto the course, not a lot of people there in the summer. I shot an 86.

After those 3 holes I thought that was the stupidest game ever.

Thank you,
MrSmith

I tried golf once... 6 months ago. I tore my MCL and obliterated my MPFL on my first (and last) swing. I am now wearing an immobilizing brace after reconstruction surgery. I think ill stick to the golf ball launcher on my AR.

In '95 I bought some clubs, and had no idea it was going to totally screw up my shooting and hunting habit. 25 years later, two kids through junior golf, and my youngest playing for Navy, I finally canceled the golf club membership and started buying guns and shooting again. The wife is happier than a pig in sh@! because we're saving so much money now.

Dad retired about 10 years ago. Took about 5 years for his “wolf pack” to convince him to go with them.
Then I screwed up a year later and bought a set of clubs.
I go when I can. Otherwise I don’t have enough disappointment and frustration in my life.......

J- Ham post #17 I am glad you can "Shoot" your golf batting course, links etc. Must be a lot of fun.

If not too far from me I would love to do it myself.

PM me and I will drive down, within reason, and do it myself with you and the owner.

What do you use for targets? I will bring some of whatever, steel, paper, whatever.

Is there a hotel close-by I can stay in? I figure it to be a lot of fun. Regards, FM

I would drive a long ways to fulfill that dream, fantasy, or good thought in my mind.

How many "holes" could we "shoot?"
