DOJ Files Anti Trust Suit against Google

Hi,

This is how much will be done about it....

Sincerely,

I use DuckDuckgo.com. I stopped using Google years ago, before they even dropped their, "Don't be evil" motto.
Same here. Their search has gotten a lot better over the years. I suffered through a pretty shitty search assuming it would improve with more use. It did.

Seeing how the anti-trust suits against Microsoft went in the late 90s, I don't think this is worth it. Back then, MS was on 95% of the PCs out there. But Google? Shady business practices behind the scenes. Yep. But there are several other search engins out there. And EMail providers. And is Google+ even still going? Not sure what they hope to accomplish, but this feels like a waste of tax funds to score a quick political point.

I’m sure it does to you. For once I’d like to see a business that’s all in for communism held accountable to the same laws as everyone else. Like many I’m not holding my breath though since we are now seeing how corrupt the Bidens are with zero consequences.

Take a look at Googles stock as of this morning its up quite a bit even with this news.
They could drag this out for years while greasing whatever palms they have to in order to get the outcome they want.

A corrupt govt and country deserve the ugly fate it will surely experience. Welcome to America 2020.

If Microsoft could survive when they were 95% of the PC operating system and forcing manufacturers to load MS products and exclude competitors, no clue what the DoJ is thinking right now. If I want Chrome on my new computer, I have to open Edge and go to Google's website to get it. There are several other search engines to pick from. Google/Earth and Google Maps is their only product that I use as a got to first.

If DoJ is looking to go after Google for political manipulations, then the FEC would be a better place to start than anti-trust. As people even here keep pointing out, there are plenty of other choices on the internet to go to.

I remember in 1969 the the gummit sued IBM corporation (they were the big technology company at that time)
IBM had about 99 buildings full of lawyers, and more litigation budget than the feds, so they said “Bring it”.
Eventually, in 1982, IBM prevailed.

Just a big political show that did nothing except make lawyers more $$$

Pretty sure microsoft lost that lawsuit.

Long over due. Hope FB and twit follow soon.

Pretty sure microsoft lost that lawsuit.

They did and didn't. Appeals overturned the initial verdict. And then DoJ lost interest and settled. No big breakup of MS like the first ruling mandated.
I just bought a new laptop. Win10 is the OS. Only browser installed is Edge. And it wants me to go all in on MS Office. Everything else I want I had to find and install. Meme is dated, but it checks out:
