Terminus Actions

I put some tape on the stock and used a pair of calipers to take measurements off of the relief hole on the right side and one of the letters on the left side of the gun. Marked on the tape and drilled a very small pilot/test hole to make sure it was centered right. Put a little play dough or something soft in the set screw and then push the small bit into the hole you drilled. It will leave a mark in the play dough. If centered, just run the correct size drill bit.

I don't know if it was my new bits. But the carbon/magnesium really wanted to grab the bit and turn it into a screw and suck it down quick. Keeping the speed of the bit up, it drilled very nicely.
Thank you. A buddy has a press so that should help.

What’s everyone running as far as bore guides? Collecting parts for my Zeus but current ones I have will not fit.
May end up ordering a custom PMA but didn’t know if a off the shelf option was available.
I got this bore guide and it fits perfect.

This Rod Guide will fit any action with a bolt diameter between .715" and .720".

Anyone know if the Curtis Axiom pic rails work on an Apollo? I ask because I’d like to get Murphy Precision to make me a 40 or 45 MOA rail for mine and he already knows the Curtis “footprint”.

For anyone who wonders about this in the future, talked to Joel this morning, and the answer is no - they are different. Still may have Murphy make me one though by using an existing rail.

Jumped ship from AI back to to the R700 life. So far liking it. Just have to modify the mag latch to get AW mags to work right because they’re far superior to AICS mags 😎

Oh. I had no idea. I thought AICS was a different company separate from AI. Thank you so so much for the clarification. /s

Lol…

@iceng - as someone who owns/owned some dope AIs - I’m pretty sure Krob knows they’re the same company.

A LOT of people feel that AWs are superior to AICS - I moved my Zeus b/a into an ACC Elite (from a TCS) with the adjustable mag latch, so I could get AWs running slick.

I have no doubt he knows, it was more poking fun at claiming superior, and having to modify to make it work. You also state you moved your action to new chassis.. to get AW's running slick.

AICS VS AI double stack each have their pros and cons. I guess if it works and you say it's better. Then you be you.

I don’t see your point. Guys mess with feed lips on AICS magazines, and mag catch length every day of the week to get them running in different setups. Does this mean they are no good? You’re a gunsmiff aren’t ya? You should know this.

I have a pile of customs and chassis so just swap gear around to make everything run the best with the least effort.

It's all my point. Nothing is superior to another, it's what's best in your specific set-up that makes it the best-est. Feedlips, mag height, follower, spring, etc. It's just an opinion which comes from experience.

Each mag has pros and cons. Find what works for you, and that will be best-est in your setup.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

So far it’s a motherfucker to get the AW mags to feed reliably. Bright side is the ghetto AICS mags feed so I am stuck for now 🫠

Inb4 I told you so 😅

Is the action cut for AW?
I think all the Zeus’s are AW cut? Like it works, but towards the end of the mag, it’ll mis-feed. Just going to have my gunsmith look at it. Be easier on my sanity that way.

I know Joel recommends aics.
shame because I was really hoping to run the AW’s due to the shorter form. We use a decent amount of natural terrain in matches and it is handier so the mag isn’t touching anything. Meh. What can you do tho I guess.

Nah, tweak your feed lips. Because it's double stack, the way the nose of the proj is hitting the feed ramp often causes it. If you can get the feed lips bent up and in a bit, it allows the nose to sit higher and more pointing at centre. That or the way thr neck case mouth bumps on thr feed ramp. Theres also how the ejector pin interacts with the rim, but terminus are fine usually.

I've encountered it waaay too much with AW mags. Thus I know what's going on.

Looking for some advice on my Terminus Zeus build. Maybe someones had a similar situation.

My 3-18 Kahles is supposed to have 30mils of elevation adjustment (15 each way). When mounted and 100m zeroed on my 20moa Zeus action I was expecting 21mils of travel.

15mils + 6mils (factoring in the scope base)

However I’m only getting 14.5mils of useable elevation.

Its in a Geissele 0moa mount and MDT ACC elite chassis all torqued to spec.

Any advice or possible remedies? I already confirmed with Joel at Terminus his scope base has 20moa built into it.

Only solution I see is getting a mount with a 20 moa cant if that won’t mess with your scope clearance.

Do you really need that many mils? What clambering and how far are you trying to shoot. 14.5 mils will get you a ways with most cartridges. My 6.5 prc is 17.7 mils to a mile, but I think I would want more than an 18x power scope.

If you need the mils I would look st the Burris rings with inserts or a mount with some elevation built in.

Was the muzzle indexed to 12 o’clock?

Thanks for the replies. The Kahles is a temporary scope that will be eventually swapped over to my LMT AR10 and replaced with a 5-27. I tried shooting out to 1250m a few weeks ago and ran out of elevation adjustment.

It's a competition contour Proof Research heavy barrel.

You guys are probably correct. The barrel may just be clocked in the downward direction and its taking away some of the elevation. When I get the 5-27 I'll probably add a 20moa scope base to compensate.

I got tired of having to take the action out of the chassis to switch barrels. Finally got enough courage to drill some holes in my HNT chassis, but this is going to make life so much easier.

I have the same chassis, and although you were kind enough to share with me how you drilled the acces holes for the qc set screws, I just couldn't risk messing up the chassis.

I reached out to Joel and he kindly agreed to do it. Shipped the chassis off to him and received it in back in short order. Very appreciative of him taking the time to do this. I know he's a busy guy.

Thank you both.

Well my action came a few months ago and it’s a shooter for sure I love this thing

Anyone know the clearance between the bolt body dia and action ? Zeus or Apollo .

Ask Joel Russo (see post #1). He owns the business so that'll be you best bet.
Note - check whether you're talking Gen1 or Gen2 - yeah, we got caught out with Gen1 Zeus and that's a 0.750 bolt etc.......

I don’t have an Apollo but I definitely love my Zeus qc bolt throw isn’t as light as a 90 so that’s a negative but it’s not that bad once you get use to is and follow up shots are super fast for me compared to a 90

As it wears in it gets lighter, if you run a light trigger it feels even lighter. Not sure this is a negative but the ejector and firing pin spring is heavy duty.

I have two Apollos. I’d trade in my 2 Defiances in a heartbeat if I didn’t already have the barrels and loads down. Have a Kratos lite on order. A 90 may have a lighter lift, but mine are hunting rigs so it doesnt bother me one bit.

I can't believe I just read thirteen hundred and forty eight posts.

I got mine today, it seems nice but I kinda miss my Tikka already. The bolt lift is really heavy but it's not in a chassis yet so it's hard to really tell. The bolt lift on the Tikka was effortless. The Zeus is kinda cool because the bolt closes itself. My acc is at the cerakote dude and the barrels are still getting cut. I got a bartlein dasher and a benchmark 308. I should have my trigger and mags Monday. TT diamond 2 stage and mdt aics.
