Top congressional leaders on Capitol Hill struck a partial budget deal to temporarily avert a government shutdown on Wednesday.
Leaders including House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., secured an agreement for six funding bills, four of which were to expire Friday.
Those bills and their corresponding agencies, which included agriculture, veterans affairs and housing, will now remain funded through March 8. The rest of the government’s funding will be extended to March 22.

“We are in agreement that Congress must work in a bipartisan manner to fund our government,” leaders said in a joint statement.
The House is expected to vote on the deal as early as Thursday, with the Senate to follow and Biden to sign after that.

Talk about backfiring. Who's going to work there if they can go to McDonald's and make fries for $20/hr? Panera Bread will be closing the doors in no time for lack of employees. Not even the illegals will work there when they can make more someplace else

Old school beating him to death with his bare hands , I would of paced myself and cut his balls off and stuffed them in his mouth then beat him to death.

When those assholes passed a special edit to rape and sexual assault statute of limitation timelines just so they could drag Trump into a criminal trial, a ton of other people took advantage to jump in and sue some of the Democrat's sacred children.
New York Dems didn't see that shit coming and they stepped on their own dick.

Similarly, I hope this proves to be WAY more damaging to the state of New York than what they counted on. NYC and New York state already has a hostile commercial climate and this should simply exacerbate things.

I say this knowing that as their state financially implodes due to their own social policies (way more $ being handed out than $ being taken in <stolen>), the Federal Government will come in like their savior to bail them out with our own money.

who knows? asgh.

Hormel Foods Is the S&P 500’s Top Stock

Volume increased 4%, with particular strength in the food-service and international segments
Shares of Hormel Foods Corp. rallied toward an eight-week high Thursday, after the food company, which has brands including Skippy, Spam, Dinty Moore and La Victoria, reported fiscal first-quarter results that beat expectations as demand increased across its business segments.
"We are especially encouraged by broad-based volume growth across our businesses, reflecting the strength of our leading brands, robust demand for our foodservice products and momentum in our Planters snack nuts business," said Chief Executive Jim Snee.
The stock (HRL) climbed 5.8% in premarket trading, to put it on track to open at the highest price seen since Jan. 4. It was the S&P 500 index's best performer ahead of the open.

The pro's and con's sound about equal.
In case of a "tie" the win goes to the Government.
Always
No, removing the dams should be a big win for commercial fishermen, recreational salmon fishermen, and consumers. That article is exceedingly slanted. People have been working on the dam removal project for over 20 years. Some news articles are just written to obtain clicks, and this may be one of those.
