im looking into a .308 remington 700 tactical with a 20" BBL. would it matter much if i got the threaded barrel or shoul i save the extra 40 bucks. also would this weapon be able to reach out at 800 meters with the 20" BBL ? please reply quickly come monday i may buy it.

Re: Remington 700 tactical

Get the threaded if you plan to use a can or a break. I have a Rem SPS Tac in 223 and I shoot the 75gr Bergers out to 600 yds with out issue. You should be able to get to 800 with out problem. You lose a little velocity with the 20" but NBD.

But the short answer to <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Reaper-824</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> also would this weapon be able to reach out at 800 meters with the 20" BBL ? please reply quickly come monday i may buy it.

Yes, no issue reaching 800.

Re: Remington 700 tactical

Personally, I'd get the threaded. I like using a brake on the 20"ers and shorter because it reduces the recoil of the lighter gun and tames the bounce when you can't load up the bipod effectively. But that's just me.

Re: Remington 700 tactical

I reccommend the 700 sps tactical aac sd in .308. Everything you need.

Re: Remington 700 tactical

Thats the one im looking at. i will most likely go in monday afternoon to buy it. thank you for the input.

Re: Remington 700 tactical

Thank you everyone for the tips and advice. If anyone else has input please add it on

Re: Remington 700 tactical

+1 for the AAC-SD. It has everything you mentioned and the threaded muzzle for the future if you ever plan on suppressing or using a break. Goes for $630 at buds, can't go wrong with that.
