I'm sure he is concerned about us Texans

I was in La Porte, Tx in the 60's and part of the 70's, back then almost all of the adults running stuff had served in WWII and civil defense type stuff was well run and coordinated. An example, 2nd or 3rd grade, a hurricane was bearing down upon us, all of us little ones went to school like...

    Flooding in TX Hill Country/Kerrville

River Flood Guages at NOAA You can click on the Guadalupe River at Hunt gauge in the map, to bring up the levels by time. There are also buttons to move up/down river gauges. This was a worst case scenario for the timing. Mapped Precipitation

House Budget Proposal to remove Tax on Suppressors but not remove it from the NFA

I actually rode the tread off of some tires. Removing the stem to deflate the innertube was the easiest way to deflate it to change the tire. I would guess the Texas statute is for spike strips, but vague is vague and misinterpreted on a whim. How a tool gets used is up to the person using it.

House Budget Proposal to remove Tax on Suppressors but not remove it from the NFA

The cap on my bicycle's tire stems looked like this in Texas, when I was in grade school and spent most of my free time riding about.

    Buying a plane after retirement

Yes, and no. No, not like someone chasing a career. But, what is the minimum level of performance, of which areas and tasks, from which ACS's are appropriate when operating a Mooney as equipped? The time spent acquiring the skill and knowledge is not trivial, and then the time spent...

    Buying a plane after retirement

OK, a freight feeder then, turboprops, FTW! Actually a Caravan job would probably be the fastest route. After 35 years being paid to do this and 41 with a certificate, GA is where the pain is. I have been to more funerals for GA pilots than I care to remember.

    Buying a plane after retirement

At 56, you'll have 9 years left that the FAA would let you exercise the privileges of an ATP. Take 2 or 3 years of that retirement and fly for a regional, for the fun of it. Then, walk away, and enjoy the skillset you developed.

Savage 110 Scout vs Ruger American Ranch in 450 Bushmaster

Ruger American Ranch, far better action. Also the Ruger is listed as 1-16 and the Savage is listed as 1-24. Yeah, I've got both Savage and Ruger American rifles. Ruger offering the Ranch in 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor makes for what would be a nice inexpensive throwdown hunting rifle for around here.

https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/CLX9877 this is a FlightAware track for the flight number in the story. Anywhere near gps jamming and spoofing, the ads-b tracking websites lose all relevance. Many years and a few jobs ago, we were taking B744 freighters for a Cargolux contract Hong...
