Why not a 168gr sierra and then sub in a 165gr sst or partition for when you go hunting? You could also do a 155gr target bullet and then swap in a 150gr hunting bullet for a bit flatter trajectory. The newer higher BC/VLD bullets definitely make a difference but I don't know if you would see it...

I’ve had a few a couple were white oak accurate, others ok, couple duds. However you cut it they’re cheap. The last couple green mountains I’ve bought have been better. Not as overgassed and more accurate. Nicer crown.

when 2000mr first came out one of the st marks employees posted on here about his load work up with it including m1a recipes. I think 47gr with 168s. The next bolt gun loads I’m trying are 45gr varget 175smk 2.83 win brass and 46.5 with 155s.

Someone in another thread stated they put a satern barrel on theirs. The past sig 308s had a dpms barrel and extension with armalite threads for barrel nut. When I was messing with my 716i I used my regular old dpms 308 receiver block just had to dremel a little bit on the sides of it.

I would get a 6.5 creedmoor bolt action. Something in a halfway decent chassis so the barrel is free floated and you can adjust it to fit you. Heavy profile barrel 22-24+ inches long. Don't forget ammunition and a good scope. Plinking to 600 or 700 on steel targets you can do with a 16" 223 AR...

It's likely the barrels are made for them by ballistic advantage. Several years ago I dealt with one who was exactly like that. A whole bunch of noise and smoke about how awesome his barrels were and they were dogshit.

That's a good idea. You could always try it on a paper target to see if they're tumbling. I have had that happen too because the barrel was really coppered up they were flying straight at 100 but tumbling at 600.

I had a rifle that was grouping shitty at 100 but past 200 it was really consistent and it was scope parallax.

They are made in China/Phillipines depending on which model. No better or worse than any other chinese/phillipines scope. I had a little tango4 1-4 and it was good for what it was.
