Westchester Trading Post 1903 rear sight micrometer

I've also got a Ray Vin sight micrometer that is very similar to the PJ O'Hare

Westchester Trading Post 1903 rear sight micrometer

I recently was perusing an auction and found several interesting items, including this gem. It is a 1903 Springfield rear sight micrometer, similar to the PJ O'hare tool, used to set the rear sight more precisely. This one was sold by the Westchester Trading Post. Apparently, back in the day...

    K31 front sight pusher

That looks a lot easier to carry around.

    K31 front sight pusher

Yep, I'm guessing this was used by the armorers to sight in the rifles.

    K31 front sight pusher

I recently glommed some Swiss rifle parts at an online auction. One lot consisted of a K31 bolt and a front sight pusher for the K31 and K11. The thing that amazed me was the sheer size and heft of the front sight pusher. It was a pound and a quarter of machined steel.

    FBI Sniper Rifles

I've got several .308 rifles, but one of my favorites is an old sporterized 1909 Argentine Mauser that was converted to .308. My sons and I shoot in a military vintage silhouette match. (chickens, pigs, turkeys and rams at 200-500 meters). Sometimes I shoot "as issued" with a Swiss K-31, but got...

Couple Mausers – Which to Glass?

Sounds like it is a good shooter. Be sure and give it a good cleaning after shooting with that corrosive ammo.

    Parker Hale M82 Clone

Does the muzzle of that barrel have a beveled edge? I've got two barrels very much like that barrel.

Couple Mausers – Which to Glass?

My '09 Argy is a fine shooter also. The 7.65x53 cartridge is very similar to the 7.62x51 and can be hand loaded with excellent results. Here is a target shot at 200 yards with a handload of 43.5 grs of IMR 4320 and a .311 174 gr smk bullet. First round was at 12 o'clock, next four grouped...

Couple Mausers – Which to Glass?

This is what the Mausers looked like when I won them at auction. I would have a hard time D&T'ing a surplus rifle in good shape myself. Plus, the d&T'ing had driven the price down to an amount that probably approximated the cost of the sporterization.

Couple Mausers – Which to Glass?

I've got two longer barrel Mausers which were D&T'd when I got them...a Persian 98/29 and a 1909 Argentine. Both shoot pretty well. The Persian is particularly good, shooting just under 1MOA, usually. I'm not aware of any sniper versions of the 98/29. If you want to cook up something that...
