The left side magazine release should work under all conditions as the left side release pivots the locking arm rather than pull the magazine release cross bolt against the spring resulting in the bolt catch activating. As a result the left side button also can’t be used to lock the bolt back...
Can’t speak to the actual accuracy of the MCX-Spear, but it was derived from a rifle created for the CSASS program so I would presume that they have looked at accurized variants. As far as Larue being able to deliver rifles, I don’t think USSOCOM has to wait in line with the rest of us losers...
The story I got was that LMT and Larue were part of the initial down select. There was allegedly a bad batch of ammo used so KAC and FN were added after a reshoot.
Since you are shopping a 5.56 can leave the flashhider as is and just get a Surefire RC2 for the end of it. With that length and wanting to use it for Hogs I would go for an LPVO. Vortex Razor, Nightforce ATACR or Kahles are my preferences. I would throw a light on there as well. I prefer...
They already do that. They list OD, DDC and Luna Black. Any further differentiation is irrelevant to professional users. This discussion is obviously not gonna go anywhere lol.
So real talk, why it such a concern that the colors don’t match? I don’t get it. Lots of “Premium” rifles don’t color match perfect like the Scar, Q Honey Badger etc. The finish is more durable than a matching cerakote would be.
Geissele only supplied charging handles and rails for URG-I and they were assembled by SOCOM armorers so I’m not sure if it is as big of a feather in Geissele’s cap as you make it out to be. There are some very serious organizations moving to Geissele complete rifles though. A fighting rifle...
So we have complaints of Tanodize not matching after Geissele being incredibly upfront about this and a video of a guy with a sub 1.5 MOA rifle that is upset because Geissele isn’t honoring an accuracy guarantee he made up in his head? Is this why people are getting so worked up?
I understand that. But the other poster tried to present outsourcing as some kind of gotcha and that they can’t be a top tier brand if they do it(hint: they all do to some extent) They don’t machine parts or turn barrels.
