I'm looking to build a 223 around a 80+ class bullet what barrel length were you shooting the 88s and what velocity did you get from it? Were you able to get them into AICS mags?
I found a guy on reddit who either did it or knows the guys who ran it. I can't get to the 2024 match but am trying to find any matches in the upper midwest to attend but it seems there just aren't any. @MarkLeupold I don't know if I have to tag you for you to see this I rarely post here
Re: Pheasant hunting boots I don't really have a preference for material so long as it is waterproof and warm. How much Thinsulate is enough, how much is too much? I'm probably not die hard enough to hunt below 20 degrees, maybe a bit lower if its nice out. My main concern is snow and wet...
I have a USP Compact .40 with the LEM trigger. I am not a big fan of it and want to switch to variant 1 (v.1?). Does anyone know the process and cost for this? My local guy really didn't know much. ("So you want to return it? You bought it a while ago..." "no...")
I am looking to pick up a good pair of pheasant hunting boots. I live and hunt in Minnesota so it needs to be insulated (a bit) and waterproof. I am hoping to keep the price under $150, under $100 would be even better. There is a Gander Mountain outlet and Cabelas not far from my house so...
Re: Decent O/U Shotgun I just picked up a Stoeger O/U with a 20 and 12ga barrel sets (swappable) for $375 at Dicks. Some people don't like Stoeger but it swings well and hopefully loosens up after a couple hundred rounds (the action and safety are a bit stiff).
Re: MN member checking in! I just picked up a couple Stoegers from Dicks that were on sale/clearance. M2000 and a Condor O/U combo with the 12/20 barrel sets. I need a place to trap/skeet shoot in/around the twin cities. Anyone know of anywhere?
I picked up a couple Stoegers on clearance at Dick's the other day. an 07 (pretty sure) Condor (12/20 combo set) and an 06 (I think?) M2000. The M2000 seems solid and smooth after a good cleaning. Range report when I get a chance. If my shoulder can take it I want to run 100 or so through...
I live in a suburban area and the cops arent willing to do anything about the coyotes in the neighborhood. One attacked a dog a few blocks over and I've lost 3 cats over the last few years. Short question: Will a .22LR kill one at less than 40 yards?
