Nope. N150 is too slow and N140 I couldn’t get enough in the case to get me near 2700fps. Never tried N540. I tried N135 also and the first outing was the same as N140. I am going to work up some and see what happens.
For anyone wondering they are using Japanese glass in these scopes. I believe it was mentioned but figured I would add it again for anyone who missed it.
Elevation means nothing when you know the range to target. Wind is where it's at and where the BC will help you. I'll take a very accurate and higher BC bullet all day any day.
Yup. It's a fun cartridge. I been trying to find a VV that works with the heavies but not sure I can find one so I am just going to use CFE223 which I have a couple 8 pound jugs of now. It gives me good velocities with the 110 ATips. Getting around 2780fps with the 26" Osprey barrel. Bolt head...
Don't know of any long action .223 workable mags. Are you fixed on long action? Why not use a 7mm short action magnum? That way you can go to the .223 also.
I have an MPA BA ESR chassis for sale. It's the midnight bronze color. Chassis is in very good shape but has a few small use marks from matches. I had my Vudoo rimfire in the chassis. Only selling it because my Matrix Pro II is coming in. I put some skateboard tape on the NV bridge but it's...
Not much difference in recoil between the two. The 168 were going faster so probably a little offset there. Both worked fine for matches. If I had to choose I would probably go with the 168 ELD-M as it's got a good BC and good velocity. The new 168/169s get passed over a lot as people still have...
And they have 1000x as many very happy customer. Small mistakes can and do happen with any company but it is far from the norm for PVA. I have been using them for many years to install barrels and for prefits and never an issue.
There's the answer and no 6 month wait. Josh @bohem is a member here and you can talk to him directly. I have multiple Osprey prefits and they are great barrels and work.
No experience with Elite chassis but as you mention it's a chassis/bottom metal issue and not a mag issue as I mentioned. Some are made large and for centerfire and can cause issues with a rimfire. It's also the followers which are compensating for the mag not fitting right in the chassis. I had...
What 155 has a .520 BC? I have shot 178s and 168 ELD-Ms in my .308 in matches. Both did really well and the rifle didn't have much recoil especially with the 168s. I had them going 2750fps. I just started playing with the 176 ATips and have them going 2700fps and plan to use them in some...
That was your problem. Not the magazine/follower itself. It was the fit of the mag into the bottom metal and if any pressure was on the mag it can cause issues as you are shoving a little bullet into a little hole and it doesn't take much to get it out of line.
I use something similar to load my Vudoo mags that have mag extensions on them. It makes it so easy to load compared to trying to jam them in. You can get a few in without the tool but then your fingers with bullet lube on them slip and it's hard to load the rest. This type of tool makes it easy...
