Re: Got an offer of a nice leupold need advice We are going to need a bit more information to get you a good number. 1" or 30MM tube? Target knobs, standard adjustments,or M1 or M3 knobs? Side parallex or AO? Reticle? Like new or drug behind a truck? The numbers range from $500 to $800...
Re: anyone aboe to point me to mil dot book? Send me your address and I'll ship you a copy of the Leupold ranging book and some copies of other good articles. Short answer(my way,not THE way) Target size in inches x 25.5(for meters) or 27.7 (for yards)Divided by size in Mils = range.
Re: Target Ranging with Reticle Depends. With a FFP reticle it doesn't matter, use what feels best. With a SFP it's whenever your scope is at it's actual mil reading. Usually at it's highest power,or where it's marked on the power adjustment ring.
Re: accuracy with pulled bullets Bought several thousand of these pulled M118LR bullets years ago. I separate the ones with HEAVY pull marks(for load development, chronoing, and sub velocity loads for my kids) and then shoot the rest just like factory firsts. I still load fresh from the box...
Re: Rem 700 trigger problems Did I timewarp back to 1980?? There are millions of Remington 700 triggers in use by citizens, police, and the military all over the world. 30 people report a failure of the trigger and you assume it's the triggers fault? Give me a million pet rocks in...
Been buying quite a few old 700s from auctions and estate sales recently and I've gotten 2 with Redfield bases and rings that as far as I can tell are the type used on M40s. One is the 4 small screws that go in from the top and the other is the bottom mount screws, which I understand are later...
Local gunshop just got in some of the Hornady 178 HPBT(not Amax) reloading components. Has anyone shot these bullets in comparison to the 175 SMKs? Velocity, accuracy, and drop. JBM says the 178 at equal velocity will drop less, but it's just using Hornadys factory numbers for B.C.. Anybody...
Re: Surefire brake switch questions. The dimensions on the .338 brake are much larger,so much you don't need to measure it,just look at it. It's the internal dimensions I was wondering about. The above diagram answered that for me! Off to the gunsmith the .308 goes I suppose. So,should I...
I have a M40A5 clone with a surefire 7.62 brake. I recently purchased a custom .338 Lapua with a surefire .338 brake. I want to use my surefire .338 can on both rifles. Is it as simple as switching the brake on the 7.62 to a .338,or is there machining involved? The part numbers on the brakes...
Re: Ammo question Quality and safe for sure. MEN was some of the best bulk surplus to be had back in the day. Like the above poster stated,it's not match.....but for practice or ringing steel at shorter distances it will do fine. TJR
Re: Moving to America/Canada with firearms If you want distinct seasons, low crime rate, and gun friendly look no farther than Virginia(outside of NOVA),Tennessee,or Kentucky. All of them fit this description to a tee. TJR

Re: So what happened to Leupold scopes? If you paid anywhere near that MSRP for your new scope thats where the problem lies for you in the resale value department. 4.5x14 with mil dots are all over the internet new for right at $1000,I bought a new in sealed box 6.5x20 with TMR for $1100 last...
