What would cause these LMT enhanced carrier fractures?

Damn, now I am going to have to check all mine. Thanks for posting. It makes no sense that would happen. But shit happens everyday.

Blow that dude up in the negative feedback section if he isn’t willing to make it right. He traded you a fucked up carrier and he’s in the wrong. He either owes you a new carrier or your barrel back for his POS BCG as well as any shipping costs your out of.
absolutely this.

I may not like arfcom for unrelated reasons, but they do run a tight ship in the sale and trade section

He should be offering; but I asked him to help cover the carrier cost from LMT before taking direct action. We will see if he pulls through. If not, he knows his forum account is at risk.

I'll first give him the benefit of the doubt; if he needs to sell something fast for the money I don't want to ruin that opportunity. Hopefully it's not another fractured carrier to someone else lmao

300 blk being fired in a 556 chamber. He also stated on the phone, hand loaded cartridges.

Would too powerful of a hand loaded cartridge be the same as a hot load?

He said that that area of failure is designed as a failsafe so that it gives way and fractures first rather than more catastrophic events occuring.
Failsafe my ass. That sounds like a bunch of malarkey.

How does it shoot? Just kidding. Occam's Razor: bcg dropped on concrete or similar hard/sharp surface..

He said, "I think I found the culprit"; then sent me this photo and said, "M855a1 was mixed in with his training ammo". Then bashed LMT a bit.

Interesting write up on the m855a1

I'm sorry, but your trading partner appears to have a terminal case of the stupid.

As why I'm here to get a more educated opinion of the matter at hand. My expertise in regards to these specifics; lack. I can read plenty but first hand experience from fellow members had been very helpful.

Ordered the new carrier today. Hopefully "trading partner " 😵‍💫 sends the funds he proposed yesterday via PayPal. His account wasn't "working" 🙄 🤦‍♂️.

I mean sure, if he accidently put a few thousand rounds of M855a1 thru his full auto carbine length gun it might have cracked it. But M855a1 like $3+ a round and it's not like your going to accidently grab it off the shelf instead of 55gr plinking ammo at your local Cabelas.

Broke college kid buys LMT EBCG 😵‍💫
Yeah thats BS. Broke college budget = PSA if your lucky. Never even knew anyone with something as fancy as an LMT when I was in school.

Sounds like you are waiting for him to pay the $155 for LMT to replace the carrier, that is a fair solution for all parties. Even then he should consider himself lucky as trading back with him covering the shipping would be a totally reasonable way to handle it.

Please do give negative feedback if he doesnt make this right. Ive been buying guns and gun related stuff from strangers for almost 15 years now with consistently good results. I recently bought a rifle through the Arfcom EE and got screwed over, first time this happened to me. Like your situation I am not sure if the seller knew the issue before selling, and unlike your situation I have no other evidence the guy is full of BS.

Agreed, I've had great experience especially on this forum; besides this trade on EE.

I do like how they've done the username color code today on snipershide.

Okay, I'm a bit late to the party, but for anyone still reading...

1) 155 isn't a deal for an e carrier. LMT runs sales multiple times per year and regularly offer the e carrier for 149, as recently as last year.

2) How can you be sure the bolt isn't fucked? Might look fine but still be compromised. Whatever "event" that carrier went through, I'm sure the bolt went through it as well.

I was thinking this bolt situation as well, definitely glad you brought this up 👊

I could tell I wasn't going to get much more from LMT than a 30% discount on the carrier. 🫣
