Color and chassis setup looks great...(y)

Is it true you cannot thumb press the bolt closed like the 1827...?
You can thumb press, but it’s a bit awkward and slow. The interface with the stock is a bit more awkward than say the CISM stock made for this purpose.

To me the thumb press has always been awkward, could be my ancient thumb joint. I tried the CISM stock, never fell in love, may just sell it now that I will have the AI.

Wow! Exceptional….I just did order a hinge for mine from AI….the Dark Earth is nice!
Thanks, I saw over on the central you are also waiting on the ZCO 840. Mine is awaiting the new release (FDE, MPCT 2X, 10 mil NLE)

Mines Henry Ford black with the MPCT3X, 10mil locking, going into ARC rings….pick up the rifle today, scope’s slated for Tuesday, and the rings shipped this morning….hopefully things all trickle in by the end of next week.

So yours was a brand new barreled action congratulations! It will shoot really well! Mine is a 7-8 year old action and this will be the 3rd stock it's in. Let us know how it works for you, what ammo are you planning to start with?

Thanks and I’ve got some R-50 to use.

I'm waiting also. I'm currently shooting two RimX actions with Bartlien 5 groove barrels spun up by TS Customs. Neither barrel is finicky at all and shoot Lapua/SK exceptionally well. I have a 52C that prefers RWS.
I have high hope for the factory barrel but I'd install a Bartlien in a minute.

Several questions?
You had yours rebarreled? What was the problem with the original? How does the new barrel shoot?

Dawkind, very interested in how yours shoots.

These are the coolest NRL/PRS rig on the market:)

Yes I had mine rebarreled, it was nothing in particular, I wanted a longer heavier barrel. I had a 20 inch factory barrel that shot ok, but I wanted one to be stellar. The largest diameter barrel that would comfortably fit was a 1.125”. I was able to find a 1.05” Bartlein that ended up at 24.5”. I asked Austin to pick a reamer that was the most advantageous to using Lapua as I shoot midas/centerX and will try Super long range. As to Bartlein I am very confident in their potential as all of my active centerfire rifles wear them. As to how the new one shoots, that will another few weeks as it does not arrive until Thursday and I am still waiting on my scope ( ZCO 840 ) and mount which are supposed to be here towards the end of the month.

Man I hate to even post this but Annie NA just called to let me know they were in if I wanted to proceed being and I passed. It was significantly more than expected. I know you have to pay for quality but I just don’t remember 6k plus on these. I’ll go be poor somewhere else with my 1710. You guys enjoy them. They look awesome !

Sorry to hear it, You could put the 1710 in one of the MDT chassis that are offered.

It was more than I expected, too, but after the anticipation and long wait…what the hell.

Then I added a hinge, long cover, a full-length rail, plus got a Fortner bore-guide…with optics/rings and all it’s been quite a ride!!!

The hinge and cover will be here tomorrow…wife’s with the grandkids for Spring Break so I can use the kitchen counter!!!🎉😅

Yes that’s how am running mine currently. Shoots great. Just disappointed on the Fortner…..
yeah, Fourtner actions are really pricey! i bought mine when they first imported them and it was mid 4K then, so about 3k for action. my bill for the AI was about 3k including some action work. It all adds up

I like the look of the scope! I see you added the suppressor to the front, the looks great, I have not leap into the Suppressor game and at my age not likely to, maybe my son will.

Before you call me a liar, I’m attaching a picture of a stamp that was approved in 48hrs….a lot are 6mos or less.

To me, a .22 silencer is the most enjoyable of them all….

Yeah I have heard that individual registered tubes get approved quickly. For me 22s are not were I would put my first one ( 308 impact would get that😀). But that is cool, really cool.

That last pic, am I looking at a bullet coming right at me? 😂

Looks like some scene outta a Star Trek movie…

Ha! I’d just run a couple patches down the bore and wanted to check it out….the flashlight I carry was too bright so I used the amber led….still too bright but looked cool!!!

The light bouncing around the lands/grooves looked like a shot fired…

My full-length rail wouldn’t clear the scope with the 30moa mount….the cover and hinge are excellent though….didn’t need nv on it anyway.

Yeah, it sucks. I have found that I need the 1.5” clearance to have the clearance I need and even then it is still a bit tight to move things under the scope. The joys of a 56mm objective.

Nice looking chassis. Can someone take a measurement of the chassis width near the thumb rest? I made an offset thumb rest for my homemade chassis and wondering if it will work on the AI chassis.
