Looking to buy my first Safariland Holster, is there any that would run a FN 509T with a X300 and a Glock 19x with X300? Would prefer it to be able to be used with a dot as well. Also what level of retention is necessary 1 or 3, didn’t see many 2 options.

Trying to run my current pistols in a series of tests to see which is better over all for my preferences and would much rather have a do it all holster vs a holster for each handgun. The only other option I have found is the Floodlight OWB from Phlster.

Safariland ALS holsters lock on the ejection port. There is no way to have one holster fit both the 509 and a Glock, they have different dimensions. You will need one for each. You can use the QLS plate system to quickly swap them out from your belt though.

The only holster I'm aware of that will meet all your requirements and be universal is the Blackhawk Omnivore which indexes off your WML.

For general range use (in Safariland terms), Level 1 will be fine. That is just the ALS thumb button. It provides a very positive lock but still very fast to draw. Moving up to Level 3 will add their SLS hood system on top of the ALS button. This is really for cops who have a high risk of facing a gun grab.

PS other companies have different definitions of retention levels, so don't try and compare Safariland level 1 to another Level 1 cause they likely mean something different. Just look at the actual features, not the number.

ALS affects your draw speed minimally. An SLS hood will add .15 to .2 of a second. You can be .75 - .8 second out of the holster with a SLS+ALS holster, but you will always be quicker with less retention. You’ll be quickest with whatever you train with though, so either way just train.

Tier One Holsters has holsters named MSP for this exact thing, they work with a lot of guns as long as you have the same light on them, like you do.

Now, of course that doesn't mean all handguns, there are far too many variables for that.

But what you are looking for is why they have these holsters, so, simply shoot them an email and let them know what pistols you are looking to run, let them know the red dots you are using, and the x300 is one of the lights they have, so that is good.

Then they can let you know if all your specific firearms will work, or, if there are some where they simply don't know because they haven't run those specific guns.
