Ready to go down the 50gr CuRx path, but load data is pretty sparse. What powders have you used with success. If the powder is on the list with no min/max, how do you figure out a starting point?

CE used to have some load data posted on their website. It was pretty limited, but better than nothing and provided info on possible starting points.. So far, HS-6 has worked the best for me. I have also tried Longshot, AA-9 and VVN350. I think any of those might work but I got more consistency with HS-6. I’m not really at a point where I feel like I have optimized the load; I put it aside last summer for a different project and need to pick up where I left off.

They sent me the 50gr sheet - only has 3 powders with loads, list a bunch of others, but no data. I have titegroup, Enforcer and longshot to try after it gets put together. Thanks for the input.

For Longshot, I tried 2.1gn to 2.5gn, and probably could have gone a little higher. I got the best groupings at 2.4 and 2.5, but the SDs were not good. Also, the flakes from Longshot are kind of annoying to trickle (although Longshot is my go to powder for the 32gn CuRX bullets). I haven’t tried Titegroup or Enforcer, my guess is that Titegroup is too fast but Enforcer is in the right range. No idea what weights would be right for those. Also, the powder amounts will vary based on your chamber is; for the 50gn bullets, my chamber has some free bore which likely allows a slightly higher amount of powder than a chamber where the bullet is jamming.

Original plan was to use a match reamer with no rim cutter, run in deep enough for the 50gr bullet, but currently looking at using a known good match reamer and extending the chamber with a throater, since the reamer is not done yet.
