Accuracy International AT question

Can owners actually advise me of what accuracy you are getting with match grade ammo (308) with the AT? I can’t find any guarantees or claims by the Company itself. Just doing my homework.

Depends on the barrel. I have a LW on mine and my hand loads are about 1/2 moa. Last group shot was 1/4 moa

They’ll shoot as good as any match grade rifle. The barrel will likely be LW or Bartlein

The factory barrels ARE Lothar Walther or Bartlien. They both shoot awesome.

AIs shoot lights-out from the factory if you use good ammo and are a good shot yourself. Somewhere here on SH I posted a photo a few years ago with a ~0.75MOA group shot at 100 yards using an AIAT in .308 with a factory 20” barrel shooting FGMM 185gr Juggs and a lowly USO ST-10 with that sexy, thick GAP reticle. With more magnification and a thinner reticle, I probably could have done better. They’ll shoot just fine if you can keep up with them.

With the factory 308 barrel and match ammo from Federal, Hornady, Fiochii 168 gr I could get around 1/2 moa.

My stock AT would shoot better than .5 MOA 5 shot groups with 175g FGMM.

This is the 7x5 I did a few years ago with factory AT 308 set up. The ammo is FGMM 168 gr. I can confidently say that factory 308 AT can do <0.5 MOA all day long with match grade ammo. I even got 1. something MOA group using 150gr FMJ ball ammo (see those 4x5 I didn't label). Also the barrel is not Bartlein, I believe it's made by lothar walther.

Here is an example of the difference between quality match factory ammo (upper left) and general ammo. These are 10rd strings at 100yrd. No barrel cool down…etc…just 4 mags with 4 different types of ammo.

5 shot groups using either FGMM 168 grain or 175 grain SMKs are consistently 0.5 MOA or less if I do my part
