PM me and I will verify from some guys on teams I know

If you do find out the SOB is a fake, please post name location etc.

Thanks for the help to those that responded. We are still trying to verify exactly how he has used this claim, as it was made to an elderly couple and we want to make sure that they understood what he told them.

Simply as an aside, that third link of agbm's above..... individuals such as that (in my opinion) have exhausted their ability to live in a "first or second" world country. Nothing short of a third-world-country habitat is good enough for him/them.

Never to return, of course. I'm just saying.....

" We are still trying to verify exactly how he has used this claim, as it was made to an elderly couple and we want to make sure that they understood what he told them. "

Was this in an attempt to get something out of an elderly couple?

Let's just say that he is in a position where false claims will hurt his standing in the pulpit. Wanting to make sure the couple heard the claim correctly before we out him.

Is it this guy? We had a few beers and I swear he's on the up and up.

I just don't understand what these guys get out of making false claims of being a SEAL or other SF type. Personally I'm content being a combat medic. I just don't get it.

I know that guy,.... Him and I fought the Klingon's in the battle of Alpha Cerntor'e circa star date 6969.666-093 with 5Mw plasma phasers, and Particle beams. He has paper from Coronado and Crane to prove he's the real deal. Seen him a few weeks ago, when he walked into a bar in Miami saying he was looking for a fight and, Chuck Norris ran out the back door,.... shaking!

You don't need to be a phony man because you are a real one. That's the difference.

Sorry hes not around anymore. You know who told him to go on vacation above the arctic circle at the wrong time? Didnt see his Trident until the second bat swing. He was a fighter but it was too late.

If they claim to be a SEAL, they are not.

I met 3 Navy seals the other day, TRUE STORY.
Know how I know they were real? :D -

They were putting this in the water, on a military base :D They are out there quite frequently training and it's right next to the smoke shack.
Found some of their dive weights on the boat ramp too, as well as the police boat anchor, a paddle boat :D
And they never once said they were SEALs either, they just chatted with me, respectfully.

not to be argumentative but couldnt those 3 just have been SBU guys?

As the saying goes, there are about 2,500 SEAL's in the Navy an I've met all 10,000 of them. I have seen this happen on several occasions from those on active duty. The way the system handles them says a lot about how the current military is so screwed up. We had an E-7 (does not deserve to be called a fellow Chief) show up to IDC school wearing a trident. Guess what, he never went through buds...busted. But wait not only did he remain in IDC school and graduate, he picked up E-8 four years later. That's about as good as one of the E-8 instructors with a recent DUI making E-9. I could go on for days. You can rat the guy out but they will most likely make up some excuse and all will be forgiven. The best team guys I have met and worked with over the years are the ones that don't go out of their way to tell you who they are.

Well what I know is that those were invented for SEAL excursions.
Divers are training with it, and it's not the Navy Divers because they are driving the surface boats monitoring traffic.

Could be an SBU but I don't even know what that is :D

I miss the good old days. You know, when everyone claimed to be a Green Beret.

LOL No kidding.

I was an electronic tech in MI, re-enlisted but got stuck with "Tactical", and rather than be a line radio issuer I chose to go into the COMSEC side of it and became the BN ComSec custodian.
Was quite pleased with that.

sorry, special boat units(SBU) If i remember correctly, the special boats units were responsible for both boats and maintaining the sdv's(seal delivery vehicles) that are in the photo. and no they dont sink with the windows open since they are never pressurized for air. the teams wear rebreathers typically while inside them. all of this may be obsolete in todays fleet tho since ive been away from anything seal related for like 22 years or so. those were pretty new and classified deals when i was a young wannabe.

From the Stolen Valor type cases I have investigated, they do it for the following reasons:
Impress women
Get accelerated promotions (Active, Guard and Reserve service members)
Get government contracts
Get civilian jobs where a military background is seen as a plus
Get investors for their dubious businesses

I dont think its changed much. While on MSG Duty, 1988, at the most sensitive post at the time. We had a douche nozzle padding his ribbon stack and making all sorts of bizzare claims regarding his service to explain his ribbons. He was telling us his Navy Achievments or whatever were awarded for stuff he did that he couldnt talk about while assigned to (I shit you not) a Top Secret AIR FORCE Aircraft Carrier.

Its bad enough stealing valor to get laid but to lie to peers, and digging deeper when bullshit is called, is pathological. Shockingly the Master Guns (very well respected) only counciled him and let it go.

His ribbon bar shrank back to the customary one or two and his real pain began. At post each Marine had a name card that would be displayed and we would graffitti the backs of each others name tags to shit on each other. His card would get filled up with drawings of aircraft carriers sporting air force insignia, written stories of his exploits and other funny shit. The card would get filled to capacity, whited out, filled again, repeat.

I hope his time at post sucked.

I imagine a simple check of his DD214 would suffice, right? Granted, he has to be willing to show it, but if he's trying to prove he was what he said he was, why wouldn't he produce it? I've never claimed to be aything special when I served in the Army, but I can back up all my schools, duty locations, deployments, awards, etc.

I imagine they wont produce a 214 and if they do it may be manipulated. I have seen a few of them done really really well on guardians of valor. Whats funny about all of this, is people catch crap in any job really. Before I commissioned I was an enlisted 12/21B and caught non stop crap from everyone outside of the sappers who said the sapper tab was a joke. It doesn't matter what you do, you are serving and that in itself is good enough. I have seen ALOT of young badge chasers running around thinking army schools make you the leader everyone wants. When in reality leadership is a natural attribute that you shape and mold over time. I really wish the army would scrap all of the uniform flair (if we ever pick a uniform that works) its the partial cause of this nonsense.

I worked with a former seal and he never mentioned the occupation.

A few years later I became his manager and it was only because of the HR file that I learned about his time in the seals.

He had a scar on his neck and he told everyone that is was from a waterskiing accident. And it might have been....

Interesting individual.

Your mom is a Navy Seal. And she also beats baby Seals with clubs and has chased Chuck Norris out of a bar in Miami.

That aside, I am the real deal, I have all the ribbons and certificates, have graduated from BUDS class #231 in July, and have such a highly classified duty description that I can't even post it here on Snipershide. But, if any of you dare call me out, read my signature and join me for proof, DD 214s, official photos, bios, resumes, pedigrees, etc. All can be seen. Some significant photoshop work has been done to all of these documents, but that is only due to the fire of 2013 that destroyed the National Archives Registry for DoD in St Louis, MO.

Your site sends me to a link that sells GI Joe Toys... Are you the guy from the Video? If so.... Dude, I feel bad for you. IF you are (NSW) then great, you have done what 1% of the top 1% can do, great job carry on. If not then let it go...

FWIW, I spent 7 years in the Navy and 4 deployments while training to become a SEAL. I worked my ass off, as many others have. Got orders as a 2nd Class to go.... FAILED the exit Modified PST by 4 pushups.... 4 damn push-ups. It wasn't for a lack of effort or training, but shoulders by that time had taken enough beatings to get their. Either way, immaterial. Through that 7 years I do things that most never will (job wise) but even with my failure in training that NEVER makes me less of a person. I know that I never quit, never gave up and never left anyone behind... To me, that is all I need to know.

dd214's wont show anything "special"....its james bond kinda stuff see, never happened

Seals are just gheys who like to wear short shorts, grease their hair and make themselves look good. Let them have their beauty sleep and stop glamorizing SOCOM units, lets just let them fall back to the shadows where they belong.

The Exit modified PST was 1000y swim with fins then 70 pushups, sit ups, pull ups and 4 mi timed run.

Of all the people in the military that I look up to, a medic is at the top. Do I have respect for the guy who shoots back when engaged? Sure. But a guy that has the self control to stop my bleeding, check my pupils, check for other wounds, and 9,000 other things when it would be easier to return fire has my utmost respect. They always do a grunts job too, when it is not in their job description.

Yeah, those limp wristed....guys. You should see how bad they suck with a handgun. Some of them try to shoot matches without a front sight! Can you believe that?!

I can't divulge too much, the paper tried to come out and photograph them from the open waters and the security force escorted them away.
I know it's not SBU, and I wlil just say g oogle "SSGN". :)

We are about 3 miles from the sub base. They use our boat launch for training because we have the only depressurization tank this side of Seattle and for whatever other reasons :D. (I forget the name of the tank they use to cure the b ends).
Anyway, the boats - I've touched them and they are pretty simplistic, the mission is the hush hush part and I'm Ok with all of that.

It goes on an SSGN, and Janes ships and fas.org would have more info than I would. The drivers of the boats are pretty cool to chat with when they are out.
They never claim to be SEALS and I never asked.

This navy town has about 100,000 people, of which 10000 claim to be SEALS, it's laughable, but again my experience is the real deal don't advertise themselves. Nor have I ever seen a 140lb SEAL :D Most those guys are pretty burley..
I did know a guy that was on the teams once, didn't like it so he went to instructing and was proud to say that's all he did. I fact checked him through some friends. Very humble guy I might add.

There are loud mouths in ever proffession, cops who make police officers look horrible, etc.

There are cocky, douche bag SOF operators just like there is anywhere else. SF, PJ's, SEALs, Rangers, etc. That small fraction of a percent is not to be used to judge the SOCOM community as a whole. The pipelines are not perfect and never will be especially when they are heavily manipulated politically these days.

There is no "stereotypical" operator, they come in all different shapes, colors, and sizes. Its about whats inside, how big the kids heart is that gets them their ticket to the big game. The stolen valor, fake SOF, etc sucks because it almost makes it so the guys who do it can't be proud of what they do, because people then think they are bragging or cocky. You work for years to get to a certain level only to have to keep it to yourself because your sick of the hype built by fuck heads.

but what do i know i just play call of duty and stayed at a holiday in express last night.

True dat, bro... it's a hard thug life for a beast on call of duty that claims to be "Delta Dan"... why can't I be both and be able to brag about it to all my 12 year old friends on xbox live... at least they believe me, and don't ask for DD 214s...
