I have been considering picking up an AR10 type rifle. I was wondering what kind of accuracy I can expect from Palmetto's version?

If anyone has any experience with these, your input would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Funny; I spent about 2 hours yesterday looking for the end of the zip tape that unravels the 'usual' route to building an AR10. In that time, the PA-10 jumped to the front of my attention zone. So my comment here is 'what he said...".

My PA10 (Gen 1) is stock except for an ALG Defense ACT trigger. With Freedom Munition 175 reman ammo, SWFA 10x, bipod/no rear bag, it was shooting about 2 +/- inch groups at 100. I only have about 20 rounds through the rifle so things may get better....or worse....? Not sure what to think yet and I have not tried any different ammo to see if it likes something better. My initial outing with it was inline with my expectations given the complete rifle was about $750, I caught everything on sale/Black Friday.

I'm building one slowly right now, so I can't tell you what kind of accuracy you can expect, but my experience with AR platform rifles tells me that a quality barrel, headspaced to the bolt, will shoot, regardless of the brand name of the aluminum parts they are mounted to. As far as PSA barrels.... I have no idea.

If I were to build an AR 10-ish rifle, I'd be going to L-W for a premium barrel. No point to the entire exercise unless it's accurate, and for accurate, I go to L-W.

I have the Gen 1 version with a Geissele SSA-E trigger. Had to lightly sand just a touch off the top of the hammer for it to fit. I've only shot it at 100 yds, but with 43gr Varget and 178 Amax it's easily sub moa.

I bought a PA-10 during this last Black Friday. Ended up buying it in separate orders for the lower (accompanied by a slew of magpul magazines) and upper. To complete the build I replaced the collapsible stock with a Magpul ACS, added a Vortex cantilever 'spr' mount with a KonusPro F-30 scope and finally a Superlative Arms bleed-off adjustable gas block to run suppressed. Below are two videos I took while shooting, but neither is of the operation or the target (I know, a lot of help haha).

The rifle is accurate to the 100 yards I shot it at and was able to hold sub-moa accuracy. Though I think the real accuracy woes will show at 300+.
