    all rings will have a gap between the top and bottom ring section

    when you tighten them down try and make that spacing even as well
     
    the two pieces should NOT touch when installed on a scope

    follow the Hawkins torque specs and do your best to make the gap even on both sides of the ring

    Yes. Follow the torque specs. If you do not have an in.lbs torque wrench. Do not proceed. Please get one. Borka makes an excellent set.
