I had these same feelings many years ago when I worked with foster children and had to work with many deadbeat mothers. Mothers who were really in the business of earning an income by having welfare children.

But then, I had to consider a couple of things. My niece, was conceived out of wedlock. I remember very clearly my sister taking about the possibility of obtaining an abortion (quite illegal in those days but still available). She is a Cracker Jack of a lady. She has achieved many accomplishments including the very first person in our entire family tree to obtain an advanced degree and used it in private industry to earn an early retirement. Other children, born of single parents who have gone on to obtain fine achievements. Yes there are bad people in this world. Bad people who are born of single parents, and, bad people who came from good, mom and dad families.

But the worst of it all was seeing an ultra sound of a fetus trying to avoid being aborted.
