Since I got my muffler approved I want to put it on all my guns that I have. My current 10/22 barrel is not threaded and my local shop charges $175 to fix that. At that cost I might as well invest into a new barrel.....

So opinions, I'm looking for a 20" barrel. I like the length and weight so ill try to stick to bull barrels.

So the Kidd barrel is $250, the Proof Research is $650 if I can find one, Volquartsen for $350?

Is one better than the other, ive read a few post and have not found much on the proof barrel for the 10/22. and honestly at that price i could just look at getting the Ruger custom shop 10/22 (local dealer has them for $625). but they do look nice and I do LOVE proof research.

Kidd $200 has 1/2" at 50 yards 5 shot group guarantee and is the most affordable.

Volquartsen is great but doesnt (from what I see) offer a 20' the longest i could find is a 18.5"

I've only seen one review of a proof barrel and it was not impressive, especially for the price. If you want the 20" I would go with the Kidd, they have the guarantee which is hard to beat for the price.

I've got an 18" on my Kidd and it hasn't let me down in the nrl22 matches I shoot. Mine likes cci std and loves sk pistol match, ymmv.

Kid 1/2 inch at 50 yards, last I checked that was really close to 1 moa.

E R Shaw, and some others in that price range will hit moa and better with cci sv. 100$ ish er shaw on my 10/22 is sub moa .

Crap .
er shaw no longer lists 10/22 just the bolt gun.

Arrrg

Take a look at the Feddersen barrels. I bought a used 10/22 with one of their barrels and it shoots amazing.

KIDD barrels are pretty great, I’m about to buy a second one. That 1/2” at 50 is very pessimistic. Mine has shot .65 at 100 a few times with good ammo and shot barely above MOA at 200 using Eley Target. Also has no problem hitting an 8” plate time and time again at 300 or a 6” plate in calmer wind.

Ive never owned a Vq BBL but they do make quality parts so I doubt it’s bad by any stretch.

A far as the proof BBL, it doesn’t exactly have glowing reviews and there are other carbon BBL manufacturers out there for the 10/22 as well (which also don’t have glowing reviews) and I personally can’t fathom 650 on a BBL when you’re still limited by the downfalls of rimfire ammo. That’s just me though.

I own both Kidd and Tactical Solutions barrels and I'm happy with both.

I have a 20" stainless bull barrel in my Victor Titan stock.. the rifle is a tack driver @50 yards and shoots a little over .700" @ 100

Sent you a PM with an offer you can’t refuse.

If you cover shipping both ways I will help you out and do it for free as long as it isn’t anything too crazy. If it is just a standard thread job or a chop then thread I will do it.

That’s a cool offer. Had a local guy say 150.00 and I told him thanks but no thanks and sent it to a guy I have used in Texas that was 85.00 shipped back to me.

I wanted to support the local guys but not at almost 2x the cost.

Are you in Houston, by chance? I got 2 quotes from local shops last week to thread a Kidd barrel. $175 and $185. The Houston market is stupid expensive for firearms stuff- except for Primary Arms. I'll spend my money outside of the H-town area just to give local shops the finger.

I suggest Feddersen too, that being said I put Green Mountain barrels on the 22's I built for my nephews and they both shoot one hole groups at 50 yards with CCI SV.

If that was directed to me. I’m in Utah. Looks like the OP is in Nevada.

I use class 3 machining and he has done good work for a decent price for me

The GM barrels I put on for my nephews rifles both shoot like this, 5 shot group, bipod and a rear bag. I put targets in the case with the rifle for their Christmas presents that year. This was after less than 20 rounds through the barrel after zeroing the scope for the first time.
