I have a few cheap AR’s from PSA that I shoot here and there or I bring to the range and let friends/ family shoot.

in a SHTF situation they definitely wouldn’t be my first choice, but if I had to grab it and bang, so be it… still a better option than any pistol I own. I have a few go bags scattered around my house and 2 of them have PSA uppers and spikes lower AR’s. Those 2 specifically have never given me any issues.

I wouldn't be surprised if their build quality is much better than it was 5 years ago. I would expect if if we hadn't just been through 2020.

ive got 6-7 PSA ARs.....all run like fucking tops.....would bet my life on them any day.
Same here. I do have some nicer ones too, but never had any issues out of my PSA’s.

I heard PSA bought out DDI, and their new AK’s they’re rolling out are supposed to be solid. Just what I’ve heard, but I’m not in the loop much on that kind of news.

I have 6 PSA AR15s 3 PSA AR10s never had any problems with any of them. I would also stake my life on them.

All of them are their premium line. They had a dirt/ultra cheap line a few years ago, but I don’t think they make that any more.

i've been impressed with their barrels for the money as well..

My PSA mutt was just over 500 bucks with FFL fees to my door. Sold it to a local buddy maybe 4 years ago and he's put well over 10k rounds through it not one issue he and his family run that thing to pieces. Mostly fed with the cheapest Wolf/Tula .223 he can find.....runs like a top.

Decent range toy, but nothing I'd use to defend my life. I know of someone who has a PSA cheapy. Shoots like it should, most of the time. Can be picky on which mags will feed well.

A good 1 moa gun. Month Of Angle.

You're going to get what you pay for.

I’m just saying if I had my pick of the litter the first rifle I’d grab isn’t any of my PSA stuff. I think just about everybody here would have the same opinion.

Have a 11in premium pistol upper in 300bo from psa. Lower is a spikes with a LaRue 2 stage trigger. Shoots pretty good for it's intended use...

Slapping 6in steel at 200 with a trijicon mro is stupid simple. Over 2k rounds, has never failed to feed, eject, ect...but I don't run steel so not sure about how that would function.

    Handy Lil pistol.

Not my goto, more of a meme, but it is dependable and accurate (enough). So wouldn't look down on anyone who used similar as their primary defense weapon.

    Better options, sure...

I have a couple of PSA cheap AR's. They are range toys for people who want to plink around. So far they have been 100%.

Psa is one of those companies that make one wonder late at night “why did I pay so much for my (fill in name brand)”
Have made a few - bought a few complete, my brother had a PSA complete rifle that we as a family use as an accuracy gauge for other builds. They might not all be pearls but there definitely is pearls in the line. Can’t knock them- I’d rate it as highly (the one my brother has ) as any rack issued M4 any government agency ever issued me.
Of course your mileage may vary.

...i mean, my 16" PSA carbine was easily hitting man size silhouettes at 400yds with irons....thats more than combat capable in my book...

PSA isnt the hottest chick at the ball.....but she sure can dance.

I don' care how crazy the market is, $399.99 for that PSA lower with magpul furniture is attempted robbery. $139.99 is a pretty good price though.

Was hitting 8” steel at 400 yards consistently the other day with my 16” 5.56, 1-6 Primary Arms LPVO. M193 ball.

Haven't you seen anything on the internet? $100000 but today it could be yours for $100!

They always list higher than msrp for their comparison price, and sell it at map like everyone else.

I do enjoy when I kick ass at a 3 gun match. Everyone wants to know if I'm shooting the latest flavor, but they all get weird looks when I explain it's a mutt with black sharpie hiding the screw ups. That one was built during Obama when I couldn't find parts, and it's accurate as hell.

My only caution with cheap AR's is that they need a few thousand rounds of testing to make sure they're reliable. I've seen a few cough in the first couple hundred because parts weren't right, but they generally run just fine if they're built right

I got a blem upper and lower a week or two ago as well. Haven’t taken it to the range yet but I couldn’t pass it up for the price. I can’t find a blemish on it anywhere.

I’ve got a few rifles built on poverty pony lowers that I shoot in PRS comps. They shoot fine and are not the limiting factors in my score. “Right” doesn’t need to be expensive.

A few THOUSAND to test reliability??

damn man, if you need to use 1/4 of your barrel life to feel its reliable, you might have trust issues.

or maybe im just too trusting.....but personally, if it runs through 10 mags without issue, i call it good.

Put a gun on the clock. If it passes it is good to go. There is something about a match environment that will kill the pretenders...

Uhhh, why is it something as complicated as a rifle is so cheap, but ammo for it so expensive. I am talking before the recent ramp up. Sum bullshit…..

My PSA AR was from their premium line like 8 years ago. 95% sure it has an FN barrel on it. Thing runs like a sewing machine. Put a echo trigger in it a couple years back and it runs it like a sewing machine with it also. Zero complaints out of me. Never really even tried shooting it for accuracy though. It’s only been fed cheap blasting ammo.

Is this the wrong place to admit that my first ar15 was a dpms and it has never had any malfunction. New stock, trigger, and hand guard because of preferences. But, barrel, receivers, spring and buffer, and bcg are all original dpms. Can’t count how many rounds. M855 is about 4 moa. M193 shoots about 2 moa. And, tailored handloads shoot right at moa. For a blaster that shoots suppressed or not, with a non-adjustable gas block, without issue I’m plenty happy.

AR rifles by their very nature are pretty good running guns. It's when the manufacturer or builder doesn't spend the time doing it right. Whether it's inferior parts or giving the parts to an unqualified person to assemble the rifle, these 2 things are the reason for most failures.

This truism is easy to forget in the internet world of “I gotta pee. Can you hold my KAC? Anyone seen my KAC? Just got a new 308. Let me show you my big KAC?”

Because idiots are buying it at current prices. I've seen them lined up in front of the stores out here in AZ waiting to see if ammo has come in.

Don't have to worry about standing in line at my local Walmart. The employees keep all of the ammo in the back and when a friend comes in they go back and get some and sell it to them. If you're there and you see it. You can ask all you want, but the employee will tell you they are all sold out.

This actually made the local paper but nothing has changed.
