Long story short, my cell number is not listed anywhere, yet I got a call from Dept of Motor Vehicles, at first I thought it was some scam? They saw that I cancelled my insurance on my truck. Explained to the Lady that my clutch went out on my truck, and I'm parking it for the Winter, and If I don't keep it registered, I get penalized when I go to re-registered it. She was very nice about it, and said she will send me a form in the mail to fill out. Not sure how they got my (cell) number? No one but a few people like friends, family, and trusted businesses have it. If someone outside that group asks for a number, I give them my landline number, which has been disconnected for quite some time now.

Edited to hide the fact that I was lumping a entire group in with the rotten apples in their barrel in a time when they need our support. Anyone standing for God and constitution has my support. You don’t have to believe in both to have me armed by your side.. you must completely believe in one though.

That's nothing...if someone knows your name and DOB, they can go onto Ancestry.com and get your mother's maiden name. You know, one of those secret identifiers for banks to know it is really you!

Your insurance company issues a batch of expired insurance policies to the state each month. They really loved doing this in Florida and notifying you like the same day about how they're going to pull your tags or whatever if you don't fix it.

Im betting the batch has your number on it, from the insurance.

You mean, like, the insurance companies and “the state” are in collusion to keep your insured? Hmmm...

Is there anyone on this board that actually thinks they are “anonymous”? If so then you are fooling yourself. If you get a paycheck, have insurance or any form of ID you aren’t hidden. Also, you are posting on the internet.

As the greedy evil governments in more states and countries became ever more desperate to feed their insatiable lust for money, many started these vile schemes where they now assume you are guilty of driving without registration / insurance if you don't choose to pay for it unless you can beg pretty please ahead of time that you are not driving said vehicle and get them to agree.

All the "good" people let these mandatory laws get passed "for the public good" and then are surprised when they are used mostly to rip off those same "good" people...

Yet they regularly show up at the wrong address to raid, kill, and steal..
I think lumping in over zealous, often times under trained, officers and the rare instances this happens with all law enforcement is getting pretty close to LE bashing. Which is strictly forbidden on this site.

Understand?

As to how they get information like phone numbers and such?

Lexus Nexus comes to mind...

Don’t over think it. The phone company sells your number.
When we moved into our new home ATT offered a bundle that included a home phone. I was given the number. I didn’t even plug a phone into the landline of 6 months. I didn’t even know the number to give it out.

later I found an old home phone in a box and figured I might as well plug it in. Immediately we received BS phone calls

Not much surprises me in this day and time.

I just want to know where those damn Vehicle Warranty people get their access from and then forward my phone to them....
No shit, I bought a new GMC pu 2 yrs ago, wanted minimal hassle, wrote a check for it. Salesman told me I needed a my gmc account, said no, he talked me into it, 6-7 months of calls and emails, fucks were relentless. Finally rid myself of that BS, then 3 mos ago, here come the warranty calls.
Irrelevant, but less than 8K on that vehicle.
Oh yeah, never do an online search for health care, I researched dental plans, paying for that 3yrs later.

Ordered AT&T internet at the new house. Bozos misspelled my first name. One letter wrong and it's a female name.

Five years later still getting junk mail for a lady who doesn't exist - and never did.

Thirty years ago applied for a credit card. Received the card, first name misspelled. Completely botched. Isn't any name at all. To this day I still get junk mail that has followed me five addresses later. Thirty years!

The only consolation is knowing some marketing firm paid money for junk. Even they are getting scammed.

"Regularly" ?

Are you at all able to think quantitatively? Even just a little?

What percentage of all response calls to an address, in all cities, in all states, in a given year do you think results in your accusations actually happening?

Shouldn't even happen once.

Absolutely. But equally bad things shouldn't ever happen with teachers, leaders, doctors, etc., but that as you know, is not reality.

I am relatively certain that at least two people on this thread could post your cell phone number with thirty minutes of minimal effort. A lot of the things you feel like should be private really aren't. In fact, very few things about you are private.

Takes much, much less than 30 minutes.

I would like to see that percentage

Heck let’s just hear the percentage of wrong address warrants no knocks etc / total visits to residences
Then reconcile that with the number of pizzas delivered to the wrong address versus the total delivered.

When there’s no consequences people get sloppy/do what they want/ don’t care etc. it happens in all .gov orgs plus some private monopolies.

Yes but the difference is the consequences. Although public teachers also face very little discipline.

Bad lawyers doctors architects etc yet disbarred or can’t afford their liability insurance anymore.

Police get the taxpayer to pay a settlement and maybe move to a different department. At worst they get a criminal sentence MUCH more lenient than the general public.
It’s just like unions there piles of good cops/good union workers but the bad ones are protected. Kind of like some organizations moving pedos around

It’s not even questioning or bashing. It applies to all of .gov and a pile of private org crony capitalists.

.gov is supposed to be for the people and accountable to the people. Hence why they were called “public servants”

Now the servant has become the master and the public is well down the road of serfdom

Don't ever question the overlords citizen.

They're always right.

If you are referring to this site, Frank doesn’t have much choice. He wants LE here for various reasons.

Plus the FBI breathes down his neck constantly. Because we all know “white militias” are tearing up this country. Not the Muslims. Not Antifa. Not various turds embedded in .gov and elected positions

If they’re legit they leave a message. If not fuckem. My email is there too, and I accept texts. If you can’t leave a message you certainly cannot see a development or investment deal to fruition.

Lol clearly you haven’t met a pile of tenants or employees.

Thinking about the future or applying anymore than the bear minimum of effort doesn’t apply to a lot of them
