I want to take an opportunity to brag on Jon Beanland. He built me this 6.5x284 a couple weeks ago. This is my first full custom rifle and I am absolutely blown away. I got a load worked up last week, it wasnt hard to do, the rifle made it easy. I started gathering dope yesterday and finished today at 1140yds before the wind got up.

    Here is the view.

Here is the first group from yesterday at 561yds including coldbore.

And here is the group from today at 1140yds. The one off the target was the first shot. I had a 1/4min too much wind dialed.

This rifle absolutely hammers. I am already planning my next one.

Beanland Custom built me a 223 Ackley on a Macmillan Stock, TL3 action and Match grade barrel 8 Tw
It shoots .125 MOA and not rarely 0.015" groups at 100 yds..Very nice guy with whom to deal, and makes every effort to make the customer happy.
Build time and turnover is quick too.

What are the specs of the rifle? Looks great!
    Defiance Deviant Tactical
    Krieger medium palma 26"
McMillan A3-5 w/ KMW Loggerhead Installed by @Terry Cross
    Seekins bottom metal
    Huber 2 stage 2lb trigger
    NightForxe ATACR in NF rings
    ThunderBeast Ultra 7

I'll second the sentiment. I spend a good couple hours talking to him at his shop when I went to pick my gun up. He has a life long customer in me.

Beanland has built me a few rifles and they all shoot lights out. Beautiful work too. Great guy to deal with and he keeps his word when your rifle will be completed unlike some other famous builders. Welcome to the club !

    Traveled,

I'm curious what do you think of the seekins bottom metal, I am working on a my next build and I was considering that bottom metal over a badger bottom metal.

If you don't mind, can you post some info and maybe some pics of how it turned out?

    Thanks.

Sure. I really like the low profile aspect of it. The push button vs lever hanging down from the bottom. I'll get some close up pics of it later.

Congrats on the new rifle, looks like a shooter for sure!! And I'll also say that Jon is 1st class and his builds are as good as they come. He's done 2 rifles for me and I'd sure like another one built by him.

    Awesome rifle and great builder.

Jon is one of the few builders that I am quick to refer others to without reservation.

You had your hand in this one as well Terry, the Loggerhead is absolutely rock solid and install is clean. Thank You!

You got a good one. The suppressor is a ThunderBeast Ultra7.

After saving up I'm about to have Jon redo my Remington into a .260 F Class masterpiece.
He will true my action and threads, take a Krieger or Bartlein competition barrel and put a competition chambering on it. He will then thread it and put on an integrated brake and thread protector. And he is doing it for a great price. Not only that but he is here in Oklahoma and when he visits nearby he will pick up and drop off my rifle. Very impressed with him and he hasn't even done the work yet. Thinking of also having the bolt release moved to the side.

Jon is as good as it gets. He recently did a build for me. Shilen DGR action, Bartlein 5R M24 contour 6.5 Creedmoor, McMillan A6 Adjustable stock, Mesa Precision bottom metal. Has averaged in the .4s with Hornady American Gunner ammo for seven 5-shot groups and gave me this 5-shot group while load testing 140gr ELDs. Don’t have the target in front of me at the moment but if I recall correctly, four of them went into .148”.

    John
