    Dafugg ?
Edit . That boy's gonna hurt himself if that is his WTAF experience with a rifle .

My guess is whatever case it was in it would not fit on top of the rifle so they threw it down there for transport. I could be wrong but I hope there is a reasonable explanation for it.

Some weapons racks let/require storage of the optic on the underside rail. Also, underside optic storage may allow for quicker monthly sensitive items serial number inventory.

Optics can be stored attached to the top and bottom of M4s and all other rifles require no additional components or spacing.

So if one day, anyone ever brags about being in military logistics but never served, a thread like this can be posted to out them for stolen valor?

I bet it works south of the equator...

Or do a Rube Goldberg setup where a camera is mounted behind the optic, with a cable connected to a LCD monitor fixed to the top rail... It will make the carbine look all futuristic and sci-fi-y...

Shit... Some movie producer probably just saw this post and is going to equip his Space Marines with this setup for his next blockbuster aliens vs. humans shoot-em-up...

    oH Mer Gerd SO funneh...

That rifle was clearly just pulled out of a transport case you muppet.

I know I know but consider this...

Your entire branch of military uses identical optics on identical rifles with identical ammo...

You zero the optic on the rifle, remove it, stow it on the bottom, and record which precise section of picatinny rail to install the optic on.

    Imagine the possibilities o_O

😂🤣 But the real question is, are they using 55 grain or 77 grain and was it zero’d at...Come on man. Lighten up a little. I’m trying to make light of the entire situation. It’s gotten pretty heavy here lately.

*pushes up glasses* Actually, heavy is not the correct term. Experts in this field would say the proper terminology to used is no-nonsense.

I kinda want one of them Trijicon reflexes.
No you don't. The dot is very weak, the polarizing filter eventually loosens to the point where it rotates with every shot. It is one of those things I WANT to love (no batteries etc.) but doesn't really live up to the hype.

Perhaps, but just for the mid-90s retro aesthetic. That period between jury-rigged kit and the current stuff is kinda fun.

Silent stalker lightening the mood I see

edit but to be fair you were right on all the kraken trump stuff
