Female Seal

no mention whether the requirements were 'adjusted' to accommodate a chosen gender or if it was 1 set of standards that a person has to meet.
wiki stuff on a combat crew requirements SWCC which is COMPLETLY different from the misleading headlines of Naval Special Warfare completion aka SEAL

Initial SWCC training consists of the following:

Screening[edit]

Assignment to basic crewman training depends on passing the physical screening, which requires the following minimal standards:

  • Swim 500 yards under 13 minutes (Side Stroke / Breast Stroke)
  • Rest 5 minutes
  • 50 push-ups within 2 minutes
  • Rest 2 minutes
  • 50 sit-ups within 2 minutes
  • Rest 2 minutes
  • 6 pull-ups within 2 minutes
  • Rest 5 minutes
  • 1.5-mile run under 12 minutes
  • Pass a basic underwater demolition/SEAL physical fitness screening test in boot camp and in the delayed entry program in order to qualify

SWCC are a unit and a part of Naval Special Warfare Command. The other three units are
  • SEAL Teams
  • Combat Support Group
  • Combat Service Support Group
There was nothing misleading about the article unless you don't know how USNSWC is structured.......which is dead fucking easy to find: https://www.nsw.navy.mil/

good for her 👏👏👏👏👏 I could not do it but she did never let anyone tell you , you cant do something adapt and overcome wanna be in bomb disposal then be the best dam bomb disposal operator you can be . I do wonder how different her requirements were than those for men did not see those listed in the news article ?

Agreed. From a different article I read I dont believe the requirements were lowered. could be wrong but somehow I just dont see the SEALS doing that.

For those who dont know what SWCC does, if you've ever seen "Act of Valor", the SWCC teams are guys on the rib boats with the mounted mini guns that perform infil and exfil for the SEAL teams. Honestly, being a boater myself and loving running boats, I would have loved to have been on the SWCC teams. Those rib boats are gangster af. They are also the teams that perform maritime boat raids. It's pretty cool shit but sadly looked down upon my the SEAL teams bc they don't go through BUDS.

I would excel at the resting part. The rest, no way! Actually watched a 39 year old ex Olympic swimmer take the qualifier today on the net. Excelled at everything except the pull-ups. Only did 6.

Pretty sure this happened a long time ago. 😁

Kind of curious......reading that article I noted many articles about women of color succeeding at some very demanding jobs in the Navy, given positions of high authority and responsibility.

Why would a fundamentally racist country with institutions built upon racism and keeping white superiority do such a thing?

Had to go through all this when I worked at NSA panama city in FL at the dive school. MARSOC dont fuck around with this shit. DMT was a very hard course both physically amd how much info they threw at you for diving injuries and treatment tables.

SEAL physical is no more than to make sure you can dive to 60', pressure test, and in general good health.

Doc

Actually they are not looked down upon by the guys in the Teams, they are great folks. They have had the Special Boat Unit forever and just rebranded (SWCC) and beefed up the training to make it more professional. Ultimately, Boats and Helos, are just a ride to work, we appreciate everything they do. They are not the ones that do the boat raids, they drive the boats SEALs do the assault.

I listened to a Podcast with a couple SEALS talking about a SWCC member calling them up asking for a spot in the SEAL sniper course. Their response was "yea, complete BUDS first" then hung up on them. They then continued to kinda talk shit about SWCC. I just figured that was the general sentiment from SEALS about SWCC. I think SWCC is super cool. I guess I was also wrong in thinking that SWCC performed the raids on the small Somali pirate dingys and the likes. Either way, i love the boats personally. Thanks for your reply, homey. 🤘

Sent a link to the article to a buddy of mine. His response is just the opinion of one retired seal, as it pertains to SWCC...

“Yeah, she passed a course that allows her to drive boats. While it is an accomplishment, the physical selection for that course is not that hard. The picture is misleading, those are SEAL candidates in the water. She passed Special Warfsre combat crewmen school. Which means she gets to drive SEALS around. They are very good boat drivers and very good mechanics when it comes to fixing 800 hp cat diesel propulsion systems in the middle of the ocean.”

That test list is misleading. There is no rest. The only rest you get is walking 20 feet from one exercise to the next. When you don’t complete an exercise or meet the minimum, you are out. It’s not “hey good try, better luck next time”, it’s more like, “you failed, get the fuck out and don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.“. About 40 of us started the swim. I ran alone.

Girls have an out. Things get shitty, all of a sudden they turn up pregnant. I’ve seen it.
Oh please. I have seen boys do a lot worse… Even before things get shitty, some “boys” have been known to suddenly turn up with “bone spurs” and dodge the draft all together…

I don't mind the bone spur ones that also do their best to bring everyone back to home and still love to rain Hell on our enemies from afar with zero risk to any Pvt Smith.

The ones that irk me are those that had multiple VN deferments, can't speak a full sentence, want to send Troops into every shithole while getting kick backs on good contracts, hug our enemies, than tie the hands of Pvt Smith from using arty because it may kill some herders goat.

Apparently you dont mind the latter.

When you watch others fuck your wife what is better him coming or her?

I thought SWCC to SEALS is like Robin to Batman...
