    How about that, members of Parliament "demand" investigation from Trump and Zelensky into the corruption of Biden and company. Mitt Romney's son is in this also also with a few others, like speaker of the house's son

    Joe was feeling the heat. Hearing from the operatives and his cronies that the skillet was getting hot. Thats why Joe entered the race. IIRC, Joe joined the race a tad late.

    Where is Joes buddy Obama? Why no endorsement from Obama for buddy Joe? Because Joe says he told buddy Obama to not endorse? Sure, I believe that.

    More realistic explination is Obama knew what was going on and would not tarnish his legacy should the house or cards ever fall. IMO, its much more likely Obama was distancing himself from good ole Joe. We will see if this changes...I would wager not, but could be wrong.

    Those that have ties to Ukraine are up to eyeballs in corruption. Either taking part for benefit, or complacent enablers. Billions upon billions of dollars flowing through Ukraine and other corrupt countries as well. All these rich politicians, got extremely wealthy by their dedication to civil service? Sure.

    Lets not forget the overlap within this cast of characters who had their hands in the russia dossier as well....

    You have undergone a strange metamorphosis in the time I have watched your posts here.

    Early on I used to argue against many of your points as they struck me as kind of "liberal" not Libertarian.

    Now your optimism is unwavering and I appreciate it.

    I attribute the change to something akin to Churchills comment of "When young not liberal you lack heart, When experienced not Conservative you lack brains"

    The 'fake news' label may have been to attempt to cancel out a real story...

    Now... this may be fake. We're behind the looking glass as the saying goes.

    But if this is real... and HWAV has generally been on-point... then things are about to get sporty for the Bidens and others.

    The fact that the Ukrainians may have put in a request to OUR government to investigate corruption is a most-interesting twist! What do we tell them... no?

    Let me know when aircraft with tail numbers associated with the Clintons, Obama's or DNC are shown with unapproved take off and a flight path toward Cuba.........than and only than will my optimism meter begin to turn positive.

    It always about the money and all you need to do is follow it. In another post a week or so ago, I stated the belief this whole impeachment Schitt show is about covering up whose pockets were lined especially in DC. Biden, MSM and the Dems will regret these hearings started and will be the ultimate losers. In addition, the thought has crossed my mind that maybe this whole impeachment debacle was a setup by Trump to smoke out the weasels and corruption in DC. Maybe wishful thinking but the reality is it will be the outcome.

    I’m sorry but at this point it’s crazy to think that anything will happen and anything will change. There are about 12 people in congress and the federal government who might not be corrupt, so to think they will ever do anything to damage or out one another is beyond wishful thinking. There will be tons of talk and dance, like these hearings, but in the end nothing will get done. How many CLEAR violations and laws have been broke in the past 5 years where they get talked about for 30 seconds so everyone can get their sound bites and then it moves on. Without strict term limits kicked off by a complete re-election of congress getting rid of all the current politicians, this stuff isn’t going to change anytime soon.

    Was working in the kitchen last night while my mother in law sat at the counter.

    The news was talking about the impeachment.

    She made a rhetorical comment "What are they going to do with this Trump?"

    She has no fucking clue other than what the MSM feeds her and lacks any intellectual curiosity to investigate on her own.

    Sucks she is also sliding into a tough place mentally with age.

    So she is the typical American and you can bet first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of 2020 she will be voting.

    I have this same issue with my grandmother. I try speaking truth to her but she just doesn’t have the aptitude to understand.
     
    One of my sons saw a picture of Trump last. night and said “ he’s not the president anymore”. I corrected him, but yeah, I feel like he’s about as well informed as most.

    Actually, there’s times when I feel your son is correct. It feels like Trump’s entire presidency has just been a power struggle in Washington with everyone trying to undermind him and/or get rid of him. Even most of the the Republicans. And these hearings have shown that to be true with everyone talking about doing what they thought was more important and talking about it’s wrong for Trump to change ambassadors even when they country they are ambassador to want them gone. None of these people act like Trump is actually president and even worse, they act like it wasn’t the voters who put him there. In their opinion, they know better than him or us so they are just gonna do what they want. Nobody in our government understands they are supposed to represent the people who elect them. Hell, when AOC was asked about her approval rating she even said, “I didn’t come here” to do what people think I should do”, but that’s exactly what she is supposed to do. She is supposed to do what her constituents want her to do. They are supposed to represent the people in their districts/states, and they don’t! Plain and simple!

    There is the conflict between "Representative Govt" and the "Person Representing".

    The Representative will never be a perfect reflection of my goals.

    They have their own ideas.

    I have to vote for the one that most believes as I do.

    The problem comes with the issue these guys never leave.

    After 30-40 years their performance reflects only their goals and those places we they and I disagree are all in their favor.

    We cant poll the electorate and have the rep vote accordingly on every issue.

    The electorate has to choose a rep that best supports their values and hopes they use good judgement.

    If they fail the electorate has to vote them out and get a better match.

    I totally agree, but I don’t think that is the way most of them of “represent”. How many times have we voted for people who then get to the position only to flip, or go way extreme compared to what they said they believed during the election. Far too many of them are not truthful with their beliefs and their goal is just to get elected so they can then impose their own true beliefs. The un-informed &/or bipartisan electorate that vote based on party or single issue are part of the problem, but the goal of our government didn’t used to be “get elected one way, govern another, because I know better than the people who vote”. But again, the problem is term limits and the electorate voting for people they don’t really agree with, but are still better than the other side, because that’s how we end up with the same old people again and again even though only 10% of the electorate approve of the job of said Representative. Another part of the problem is the “weaponization” of everything and a media whose job has become profit and ratings rather than truth, fact and in-biased views of both sides. Which again, is partly our fault because when asked only 10% of people believe the “media” yet they still tune in
     
    The other problem is our representatives who go against things they actually believe in just out of spite for the opposition and/or out of hopes to stall until election again.
