    Way too often it seems the "freedom loving" type are all about individual rights and freedoms... till someone says "vaccinations" and then it's full on herd mode and of course you best do exactly what the government says & better not ask any questions.

    Basically a toddler gets sick and so the family takes them to a doctor, the doctor is an idiot and can't figure out what a simple upper respiratory infection is and says they should go to the emergency room. Kid starts getting better on his own, so no need to wait 8 hours in a room full of diseased illegal immigrants, being exposed to who knows what, to have some junior idiot doctor tell them to take an aspirin or two, and being charged thousands of dollars for it as well. Might as well wait and get a proper doctor's appointment.

    Stupid doctor gets all butt hurt and "reports" them for their kid being "unvaccinated" and the evil Child Services department (they are all evil), sends the police over, parents tell police everything is fine, so take a hike. Police come kick in the door at gunpoint to steal the kids.

    The point is Not about the police kicking in the door and taking the kids, but rather that the government is tightening their grip on you using this stupid "vaccination" scare because a bunch of illegals with diseases from the ****hole countries are allowed to waltz in and infect everyone, to give stupid evil anti-gun, anti freedom, conceited doctors and bureaucrats the ability to go demand folks storm in and take your kid at gunpoint if you dare think perhaps you have a better more efficient, more cost effective, more sane idea of how to get medical treatment.

    While youre correct on one front, there are good reasons for vaccinations. There are several diseases, measles for one, that were all but eliminated, now making a comeback because parents wont get their kids vaccinated. Go to nearly any Latin or African country and see why we vaccinate.

    Thats no excuse for that type of behavior...from the doc or the cops. Thats just plain bad copery.

    My wife watches Madam Secretary (which means I watch it too...). A couple episodes ago it was all about superstorms due to global warming, and "climate refugees" needing new homes... then they straight up blamed the US for industrializing, carbon emissions, and causing global warming. I almost shot the TV.

    This last episode continued to play on that theme, with the refugees from these places now bringing disease into the countries sheltering them, which started a measles outbreak and ended up killing a kid at the end of the show. They absolutely slammed 'anti-vaxxers', and social media 'misinformation' about the effects of vaccinations, and of course people who don't trust the government. Then they gave the bright idea to stop renewing passports unless you can prove you're vaccinated... whether you believe in vaccines or not (I do for the most part) it was total brainwashing of the idiots in this country who cannot or will not think/research for themselves.

    The show didn't push political agenda nearly as hard a season or two ago (they still did, but it was subtle in the story line). Now, it's so blatant and disgusting, the storyline doesn't even seem to matter... I'm not going to be able to sit with the wife Sunday nights and watch this one with her anymore... I end up yelling at the TV too much.

    Just when you want to sit down and relax... turn on the boob tube for an hour or two before bed, and escape the BS in the world, they infiltrate your house again... god I hate liberals...

    I don't disagree, but there are areas and situations where pure libertarianism can be as fucktarded stupid as Marxism.

    Communicable disease doesn't conform to libertarian ideology. Wishing it has something to do with the free market or merit isn't going to make it so. There are communal concerns that are inadequately addressed by objectivism and rationalism. Pure libertarianism doesn't accept the fact that a free nation will have to deal with slave nations, and therefore cannot treat equally with everyone. As with everything there are exceptions to the rule.

    Now, rigidity of ideology is not equal. I am totally happy to argue/negotiate with purist libertarians or objectivists seven days a week and twice on Sunday even though I may disagree with some position they hold. I'd rather just shoot the socialist/communist in the face and save myself the brain damage.

    To me vaccinations/immunizations are the toll for living in a society rather than as a hermit. Again, as wrong as that law is in California, banning people from public spaces, the alternative is that no one gets to use them at all because a couple of people don't want to protect themselves. That's as retarded and no different than saying we can't have a military because some people are pacifists.

    It's an imperfect world, we are imperfect beings, and it's not going to mate up with any perfect ideology.

    Vaccinate your kids! For fucks sake, it's only been since 1797 that we've known vaccines prevent disease and save people's lives (mostly children). Global warming is bullshit "science". Vaccinations have an over 200 year history of saving hundreds of millions of lives. Whatever ill effects they may produce there's simply no arguing their effectiveness and necessity (especially as population density increases).

    Also, when everyone is vaccinated the disease does not flourish and mutate, it's eradicated (like measles). When only some are vaccinated the disease is allowed to keep going and IT WILL mutate, rendering the vaccinations less effective or possibly even ineffective. By vaccinating you are not merely protecting your own children. You are protecting all the other ones too, and the converse is also true.

    I watch ZERO tv these days and it's a rare occasion that I will watch a pre-owned Hollywood movie. Haven't "NetFlixed" or bought a BluRay since I don't know when. Nothing worth watching anymore and I'm all done supporting Hollywood"s ilk. Wasn't tough to turn it off permanently and I miss none of it.

    Threw mine out into the driveway about 12 years back, havent missed it, life seems quieter now. I catch what 'news' I need from the internet...bwahahahaa

    If vaccinations were limited to a group perceived as privileged people would riot to get them, and demand the government provide them.
    Vaccinations are truly one of the advantages of living at this time in history.
    Few if any today can recall watching a child crippled or die from polio.
    Gotta go with the government on this one.

    IIRC, I went to grade school with at least one kid who's dad had polio. Wasn't pretty. When it was time for vaccinations, we all lined up and got 'em. I wasn't happy about it, but all I could think of was that guy's dad and how I didn't want to end up like him.

    As pathetic as the posters in this thread are I will list my opinions and why I choose not to vaccinate.

    1-Anything government mandated Im automatically against. There is an agenda, and it is a billion dollar industry requiring shit that's not needed to get $$$$$$ and you liberals are eating it up. Not only that, but there is legislation limiting or eliminating the option to sue if said drug is found bad later on.
    2 - DOctors (actually politicians) trying to push literally 10 +/- different shots for a newborn because the company making the drug says its required? These same doctors that cant diagnose their ass from a hole in the ground and prescribe antibiotics for everything...you kidding right? A 7lb baby getting pumped full of a cocktail of drugs...what can go bad???
    3- These drugs aren't tested on real life people, esp babies (who going to let their baby be tested on?). If the tests are negative press for the company, the billion dollar industry forces them kept quiet. Also, if the tests are having bad side effects, the drug is discontinued, patient paid off, and another quickly takes it place.
    4 - Don't think for a second that there isn't a direct correlation between vacs and the SPIKE in cancer, down syndrome, add, adhd, etc etc.
    5- Don't tell me how to raise my kid. Ever. Let me see. I have a brain. If im goin to a third world country where the fear mongering drug pushers say the disease is in America, when its not, I will get a vaccination.
    6 - if ur afraid of getting a disease, you get the vac. Problem solved. Mutating disease? You're the same liberal that takes antibiotics for every common cold in 1 second and you are crying about a disease that doesn't exist here that might mutate? Pathetic...

    And yes, my 6 and 3 yr old just got their first shot, the MMR because I will be traveling to places that have outbreaks. But no way in hell am I letting bought and paid for politicians mandate shit. You keep listening to Big Brother though. Keep you safe at night.

    Exactly my expirence. (Born in ‘61)

    Also had an elder friend who’s daughter was debilitated by polio a few months prior to release of Saulk vaccine. 1951 iirc. It basically ruined the entire family.

    If those vaccines were limited people would be killing for them.

    Get a grip on reality folks. Vaccinations, their safety and effectiveness are based on real science. The people saying that Vaccination risk outweigh benefits are expressing an opinion that is contrary to all evidence.

    I'm not going to say that the police should enforce the science on your family, they should not. Yet if you are a decent person you will ensure your children are vaccinated. If you do not then you are either stupid or evil.

    I worked with a guy named Dale whose parents did not believe in vaccinations. He caught polio as a child and it warped his body in almost unimaginably grostesque and painful ways. His left leg was eighteen inches longer than the right, and his right arm and hand were shriveled to the size of a toddler.

    So yeah the police ought to stay out of your house, but if you need the government to tell you to vaccinate your children then you are pretty exceptionally dumb.

    I've actually done my research very well and also have probably more real life experience than most when it comes to diseases.

    Perhaps it was different when you were growing up, but when/where I did, vaccinations were not a thing and childhood diseases were just a part and parcel of growing up. I knew hundreds of children that got the whole standard panel of Childhood diseases (measles, German measles, chickenpox, mumps & sometimes whooping cough). I never knew of any of them not recovering just fine with careful parental or older sibling care. And once you have it and get better, than you can help attend to the next batch of sick kids because you can't get that version any more.
    It's more of a bloody inconvenience than anything else because of all the time it takes to carefully nurse kids along and keep tabs on them, it's something where you need to be caring for them all day, all night till they get better. If you can avoid it safely, it's probably a good idea to do so.
    So while yes some folks do die from diseases, it's pretty rare unless nobody is taking care of them.

    I am not saying you shouldn't vaccinate your kids, but that 2 things:
    The dangers of not being vaccinated are way over hyped in the media
    The current government propaganda push to make everyone shut up and do exactly as they are told is very dangerous.

    Especially in this case, the kid was sick and then getting better with something totally unrelated to "vaccinations" but the butt hurt doctor idiot used that as an excuse to claim they should send the door kickers in. There are very good and solid scientific reasons to not vaccinate very young children but rather wait till they are a bit older, especially if you are actually taking care of them at home yourself rather than farming them out to daycare and babysitters. There are also very good well known reasons to run a different vaccination schedule than what the government pushes.

    These diseases are being imported across our borders by our own government, none of them mother fucking two legged Petrie dishes have vaccines...     Unfortunately that's the problem, you are more than happy to just "go with the government" rather than actually do the research, and find out what the government is doing is wrong and how to do it right.

    So what you are saying then is you are all good with the government sending the local SS team to kick in your door and take your family at gunpoint if you decide you want to decide for yourself when to get vaccines and how to space them out and which ones to get when?
    (Because it's for the common good).

    There is a difference between the actual science and what the government and the stupid self important medical establishment says you should do.

    For example, it's not speculation, but actual medical knowledge that it would be better and less risky to give vaccinations more spaced out and at different ages that the "government mandates", but they say "well we are not sure people will come back 3 times over several years to get everything done so it's better to force them to take the risks and do it all at once at a really young age".

    There are well documented and researched side effects of various "preservatives" and "enhancers" that are often used in cheap mass produced vaccines for cost savings. But they tell you to shut up and we'll inject what we want into you and better not ask questions.

    Point in example recently, in California, the government decided to go ahead with pushing a whole batch of vaccines out (to mostly poor people), that had preservatives in them that California itself had specifically banned due to concerns about side effects... but they were short of the new stuff one year and just said... well screw it, give them the old stuff & hope they don't get anything and blame us.

    And as to your polio vaccine question, yes good get the vaccine, but perhaps ask which one you are getting & what they put in it? Lots of people didn't ask and got the monkey based one that was near certain to give you cancer... Maybe if they had asked and demanded to know exactly how it was made and what ingredients were in it, they might have thought that injecting monkey cells into you might not go perfectly well.

    If you actually wanted to do the research and be safe, you'd see that scientifically, barring actual exposure concerns, you should actually vaccinate your children later than the government "dictates" and with non-compound vaccinations, spaced much further apart and also with the more expensive versions that don't have certain preservatives and metals in them.

    My Dad, born 1945, got polio from a dirty swimming pool when he was 4 or 5. Spent nearly a year bedridden and has a severely curved spine to this day (age 73). The doctors all said he’d be in a wheelchair by his 20’s, but he’s still walking around and working hard. Always amazes me.

    Here is the problem with that. In our society when this bozos kids get sick he is going to want the taxpayer to foot the bill. His stupidity is a factor in calculating our insurance rates. His kids going on lifelong disability/medicare cause they turn up crippled or tarded is what is bankrupting the system so the rest of us can not count on it. None of these losers is prepared to bear the possible outcome of their decisions by themselves.

    I won't say cops should be sent to their houses, but their decision is wrong.

    Isn't that about as intellectually honest as people showing pictures of a mass murder to explain why everyone needs to "shut up" and "do what is best" and give up all their guns?

    Do they still vaccinate people for Polio?

    So what does that have to do with measles vaccinations?

    Some diseases are very different in their issues. Some you can't take the chance on getting at all because even if you recover there is a very good chance of serious long term issues. Others are more of an inconvenience.

    But even with life threatening diseases, Don't you think it's a good idea to ask questions and decide how to proceed based on the facts & know what is being injected into your body or the bodies of your children in explicit detail?

    Maybe if you haven't seen it, but I grew up knowing in explicit detail what most common childhood diseases that are the subject of the struggle between individual freedom and government control "for the common good" are.

    Yes I think it should be avoided if safely possible.
    No I don't think the government has any right to send the SS to grab people at gunpoint if they want to do things slightly differently.

    You would have a point if the government wasn't busy letting every sick person with who knows what come pouring illegally into our country with no checks or balances, demanding that we let them roam around our schools unhindered and be given every possible opportunity to infect others, and then providing them with free unlimited care at taxpayer expense instead of keeping them out and only letting people in legally and checking them for diseases & vaccinations as a condition of entry. If you have ever had to go to the emergency room (around here at least), you'll understand it's pretty much the free healthcare center for all of south america. (on Your dime I might add).

    Thanks to advances in medical research, dreaded pathogens such as smallpox, polio, and rabies are at least manageable now with prophylactic treatment and immunizations. Polio is truly nasty shit. And rabies was a MAJOR killer in those days too. And the worst thing in the days before effective rabies vaccines was that once a person had been bitten and knows it, it is a death sentence. And every day is a wait until the lethal symptoms show.

    Today in the USA, around 120 people die from rabies each year, compared to the thousands in the 1920's and 30's thanks to the availability of effective and easily administered post-exposure vaccinations. Those deaths today are mostly the result of bat bites and scratches, which are difficult to detect, especially for people sleeping outdoors or in rooms without window screens when they were bitten. (If you don't have screens on your windows, you should have them installed)

    In India, rabies still kill up to 50,000 people per year, mostly children. And that is due primarily to the lack of communicable diseases education and the scarcity of the lifesaving rabies immunoglobulins.

    Your point is both brilliant and relevant, yes we need to demand that our government control those passing through our borders to insure that they are bringing disease. The disgracefulness of the US Government failure to do so, dose not excuse us from doing what is best for our children, rather it increases the need to take those measures. Thus while your complaints about government caused illegal immigration are valid, they actually support my side not yours.

    And no, I’m not in favor of kicking doors in nor letting in untested immigrants.

    I would be ok with letting the stupid suffer and die but it risk the health of others who do use common sense and take care of their children.

    Probably a pipe dream, but I also 100% support that insurance companies as well as welfare be protected through legislation to prohibit anti-vaxxers from coverage and/or benefits for anything related to their stance. Let them put their money and livelihood/lives where their mouth is.

    @W54/XM-388, not sure how far off we are in age but I'm in my mid 40s and took my own week off from school covered in calamine for the pox when I was six. Yes, diseases were just a part of growing up, but that doesn't mean we can't improve medically from then. I completely agree this doctor as well as all else involved were WAY off base in sending in SWAT, that's as anti-American as it gets. Perhaps the FBI can get on track to redeeming themselves by investigating the civil rights violations committed by the doctor, PD, and child services here.

    But as much as you say the dangers of not being vaccinated is over-hyped (I agree to an extent), the hype surrounding the dangers of being vaccinated are proven falsehoods and following such is as foolish as believing in the GND will save America.

    You are correct in that for sure. A lot of these "Celebrity" and "Social Media" types that espouse all their "information" are just as into the hype machine as those they are against. They tend to replace "A very small possibility" with "Will" because well if you say that maybe one in every hundred thousand or less may have an issue with a vaccine, it's not nearly as scary.

    you make it sound as though we are agreeing with the govt because we blindly trust them VS we have looked into the matter and just happen to agree.

    im not sure many people here even agree that the Govt should FORCE you to get vaxxed.......just that its a good idea in general.



    i dont think someone should wallow around in pig shit.......i dont think the govt should make wallowing around in pig shit illegal.


    as i said before, i dont think the govt has any right to take your kids away for not getting them vaxxed.

    It's all good until some Non-Vaccinated kid gets around your elderly parent or loved one and "takes them out" with the Flu or something easily preventable just because they don't trust the government.
