I recieved these two builds from Jered a couple monthes ago. Im just now getting around to posting some pics since this tropical storm is keeping me off the range this afternoon. The fit and finish of both rifles is simply amazing as all of the rifles that leave Jereds shop are.

Specs of rifle #1 6XC, I call her Crickett
BAT VRPIC action nitrided
Krieger Heavy Palma 1/8 twist 27 inches plus a little bastard brake.
McMillan Baker Special Stock
Surgeon DBM
Jewell Trigger
Schimidt Bender 5x25 with H2CMR CCW

The 6XC is the most accurate rifle I have ever owned. I have shot my best groups at every range to 1000 yards with this rifle. It is a pleasure to shoot and I already have another barrel on order. I put a pic of of some 3 shot groups that show what the rifle does on a regular basis with the right conditons.

Rifle #2 7/300WSM I call her Thumper
BAT HRPIC nitrided action (Long action)
Kreiger 1/8.5 twist 27 inches plus the little bastard brake
McMillian Baker Special
Jewell Trigger
Surgeon DBM
Schmidt Bender 5x25 MSR CCW

I have just started load development this past week with the rifle. Ladder test are looking promising as I had 4 round in .5 grain increments(61.0-62.5 grains of 4831SC) that you could cover with a quarter, This test was done at 400 yards. Now that is a accuracy node!

Thanks Jered for taking the time and building two Tackdrivers!!

Re: Fraternal Twins from American Precision Arms

Well well well about time

Those are two great guns

Both very accurate and the fit finish and final details really set them apart

Hopefully jered will send another down to Florida very soon

Re: Fraternal Twins from American Precision Arms

Very nice. I have one Patriot/APA in .243 and it also is an accurate some beetch. Never shot a Baker special stock but they look good.

Re: Fraternal Twins from American Precision Arms

When I grow up and get to be a big boy I want to be just like Joe. He has all the cool toys. Seriously though, those are some fine rifles and some great groups you shot with them. Have you tried any H-1000 in that 7/300?

Ha Ha! You know I'm just trying my best to get to the same level as you and little bro. I got a longggg ways to go. But I'm spending as much time at the range as possible.

I tried 4831SC and H1000 so far as a ladder test at 400. Both powder looked extremely promising. 66-68 grains of H1000 looked to be the node. Speed was best with H1000.I hope to have a load finalized by the end of the week. This storm needs to get gone!

Re: Fraternal Twins from American Precision Arms

Send that storm west. We could stand a rain here in NE Louisiana.

Re: Fraternal Twins from American Precision Arms

Congrats, those are some sweet looking sticks.

Re: Fraternal Twins from American Precision Arms

Jared built me a .300, most accurate rifle I've ever shot too. Congrats on the new builds.

Re: Fraternal Twins from American Precision Arms

Those rifles look/shoot great. The baker special is a nice stock choice. I'd love to see some more photos of those two.

Re: Fraternal Twins from American Precision Arms

Great looking rifles. And a good idea to keep the builds identical, It wont matter which rifle you use they'll have a familiar feel.

What made you go the Baker special??

Awesome stock by the way, i really like mine too. perfect stock design IMO and can be set up to custom fit the operator.

The Baker seems to be an underrated stock!! You don't see many builds using them. Good Choice!!

Cheers

Re: Fraternal Twins from American Precision Arms

Nice Joe. I am guessing the A1-3 almost gets the nod too, eh?

Thanks for the kind words.

I have played with every tactical style stock that Manners and McMillan make. For me the Baker Special fits me like a glove. It feels like it was just designed for me. In return I honestly shoot better with the Baker Special. The Manners T3 is a close second.

Happy Memorial Day!!

God Bless all our Troops!!

Cheers

Re: Fraternal Twins from American Precision Arms

I'm digging the Baker stock, you don't see many of them on builds. Rifles look great!

Re: Fraternal Twins from American Precision Arms

He told me if it didn't out shoot "Shootone's" rifle I would never get any more business from him..............So I did some file work on "Shootone's" rifle. Sorry Benji a man has to do what a man has to do.

Cricket's cousin almost got to go put the smack down on some prairie dogs this weekend but the weather put the trip on hold.

Thanks for the report Joe!

Now i know why he wont let me touch his guns, i have already caught him putting the wrong ammo in my box and spinning my scope knobs.

i thought it was keep your friends close and enemies closer, its a shame, looks like i need to keep my eyes on him

Let's keep the file stowed away on the next one

I actually went offshore for the first time in a long today caught a few of these.

Can't keep them anymore bc some scientist said that they arent any left

They still put up a fight and are fun to catch

We put 15 total in the boat with 2 over 30lbs

Re: Fraternal Twins from American Precision Arms

You mean this stock?

b914859e.jpg

i am trying to get it there as fast as possible, i wish it was already there, you have no idea how much i am looking forward to this build

you are one to talk about putting down a fishing rod

Sadly i think you do more fishing in Florida than i do and i live here.

Re: Fraternal Twins from American Precision Arms

Well that's your fault not mine........need a roommate? I never sleep, smell like cutting oil, eat like a hog, but chances are you won't see me much if I move down.

Now get that stock here pronto.

Re: Fraternal Twins from American Precision Arms
