The first thing that came to my mind was a hockey puck. I was a hockey coach for my kids growing up. I remember getting hit in the head with a hockey puck once and it hurt."
— Chief Mark Gordon, Oakland University police

I think someone has brain damage from childhood.

It’s just the idea of having something, a reminder that you’re not powerless and you’re not helpless in the classroom."
— Professor Tom Discenna, Oakland University

Ummm, gun would be even better at doing that exact thing.

you know what else is a reminder that you arent powerless?.......A FUCKING GUN.

god this is a worse idea than a bucket of rocks.........at least with the rocks, you had a few things to throw at him.

i love how they recognize the need to fight back.......but they are handicapping them to throwing hockey pucks......they are making a fucking mockery of the situation.

"oh i know you should have a means to defend yourself.....and a gun is the most efficeint means to do that....buuuuuuuuut guns are icky so you cant have one...sucks for you!"

I'll take those odds, me being well armed of course.
So long as all of the Libtards are for this option and the rest of us can use just a sliver of common sense in determining our preferred course of action in the defense of our children and loved ones.
All protection provided to elected officials, banks, stores etc., hockey pucks.

Obviously mental gymnastics around the idea of self defense.
Strangely enough the next step is to call a good guy with a gun and hopefully they'll even enter the building.
Something that these folks can't comprehend: A cop is just a good guy with training...

It irks the shit out of me that the first plan in any of these events isnt to start throwing kids out of windows with survivable drops to run away from the kill zone.

Instead the protocol is to sit in the classroom like fish in a fishbowl and allow loser to point blank kill at will.

Sure I get the old paradigm of a secondary attacker getting victims trying to move out of the kill zone but that has not been the way active shooter situations have been playing out and if it was, better to test their marksmanship with movement and distance instead of point blank under a desk.

It would make a mess of accountability but thats where you tell the kids, most who have cell phones these days, call their parent as soon as they get to safety and advise of location/status.

Instead they will have these kids die with a tired arm.

They've bought thousands of hockey pucks, and they're telling students and faculty they can use them to defend themselves... This has got to be some sort of academic malpractice. The Charge of The Light Brigade is taught as A CAUTIONARY TALE! It is not a tactical primmer, nor do it's lessons point to a modern day reenactment on a college campus. It boggles the mind.

Why not give them all rocks? A rock is harder than a hockey puck. It's cheaper. You can choose one that is of a weight that suits your level of strength. Etc., etc., etc.

Again, they've bought THOUSANDS as if this were an actual solution or anything more than a joke. These people vote.

First thing any decent gun-fu class teaches is to get off the X...first thing. Sitting stationary was the worst thing you could possibly do, but maybe it's been supplanted by confronting the shooter with a thrown hockey puck.

Wait...anyone can just go into a store and by these "hockey pucks"? That's insane...no one needs a hockey puck! Stop the madness!

I can see this working... If you have a stick too, clear shot, clear head, training in hockey, and a suitable trajectory for a slap shot --and steel balls to stand there lining up the shot vs. taking cover. Otherwise, not buying it. "Gives the student a reminder they aren't alone" --just what I want during a life or death situation, a goddamn token handed out by the very institution that demands I not be able to defend myself.

Well, fuck them. I went to university. I also carried my trusty G17 DAILY. Imagine that, years at college, ups and downs, people I liked and didn't like, and for some reason unbeknownst to man, I was able to NOT pull it out and shoot my classmates. Go figure. During it all, the ones begging for permission to protect themselves, they wore empty holsters to protest. One professor wouldn't let the door to classroom be closed and kept one window open, regardless of noise or temperature, because he wanted to be able to hear gunshots far off. This was 2005.

I'm not asking for permission. If I ever did have to draw and stop a school shooter, I doubt the school would have kicked me out anyway given all the "hero" bullshit that goes on after. And even if I did, double fuck 'em, wouldn't wanna go there anyway.

A fucking hockey puck... And then they had to buy 'em. Fucking rocks anyone? Buying wrist rockets would make better sense.

A flailing attempt by the "Right Think" retards at psychology.
Their premise: "Hockey good up nort".
Let's sell the idea to use pucks for personal defense against handguns...
"Mikey likes it".......

I think someone has brain damage from childhood.

I think himself, and his officers need to drop thier sidearms and have a full belt lined with hockey pucks.

Do the recommended pucks come in Mil or MOA

They say they care about my children, but they have no problem letting an armed guard be with the banks money, armed guards walk around with movie stars, musicians, people from Congress, and ex politicians. Why are my children not that important to them?

No. Duh. They don't know your children. They know Justin Beeber.

I was watching some bullshit on TV, and some leftist fucktard was arguing that he cared about a woman's child as much as she did. She got super pissed and started shouting at the moron, "WHAT'S HIS NAME!?!? WHAT'S HIS NAME!?!?!". I almost fell out my chair I was laughing so hard.

Well, until the pucks come out fully semi automatic I’m not buying any.

That is EXACTLY my point. Bullshit needs to be called on these assholes. If its hockey pucks that make them feel safe, then let the police that agree with this and these assholes bodyguards carry a fucking hockey puck. I dont care if they have a high capacity purse to hold them in.

If The Left starts a Civil War? It comforts me knowing they will be armed with pucks. :)

They think they are the only ones that should have them even though they hate them. And I'm not talking about hockey pucks. lol
