Well I just got home. They had to cut tendons that were pulling my toe out of place. My toe was more jacked up than they thought. Had to break my toe to get it back in place. They next eight weeks are gonna suck. I’m stuck with my foot in the air. No uspsa or PRS, but at least I have a guitar and you tube lessons. Maybe I can get my wife to wear a French maid outfit while she waits on me! Cheers!

My feet are screwed. I’m a big guy, and have run, cycled, rock climbed, AT hiked, and moto crossed my way all the way to 60 years old. I’m paying for it now. Even though I’ve messed up my feet, I wouldn’t trade my life. It’s been so fun and full of adventure.

I'm right there with ya! Six weeks for me, if all turns out right. Had to have wires put in two of mine. They were curled up, which when I walked, they pushed a bone down in my foot, which led to an ulcer forming. Sucks getting old. At least, we aren't talking about Covid! Mac:ROFLMAO:

This right here is what everyone should strive for. No joke, full serious.

Today

Carpal tunnel 🙄 did the gun hand first since it was in worse shape than the support hand.

Grip strength is back, still sensitive, can't do a pushup yet it won't take the weight. Surgery sucks 😡

I would post pics for y'all of my recent surgery ever but nobody wants to see my shaved scrotum. No more kiddos for me! I suspect I'll need fusions in my neck eventually, avoiding that for as many years as possible.

Get well quickly gents.

My wife is getting set up for her third shoulder surgery, second on the right shoulder so she can shoot in the shotgun leags.

Doc said some stupid thing about quitting. He was informed of the availability of other surgeons.

She can still shoot rifles and pistols since she's compleatly ambidextrous eyes included. But can't swing her shotgun.

Get well soon.

Surgery #5 on the shoulder and have had #6 since this hardware was put in. 8 new screws and several allografts to go with this metal now. I always rushed back to get back to work in the Firehouse and to get back to shooting/hunting/camping, etc.
Don’t hold the halligan bar for the probationary firefighter or your hand will look like picture #2.
Stay focused on healing and take your time. Don't rush back to doing anything too soon, ask me how I know.

We're all a bunch of broke-asses

This scar was from the top of a chain link fence going into my hand when going after a suspect a few years back. Gun hand. Took 4 months to grip/shoot and write again LOL. So much fun yay.

You'll be bored as shit, but healed up in no time flat. Good luck.

I knew that we had a bunch of people on this forum, but I had no idea how many of us were in this injury camp. It’s actually pretty cool that we can all relate.

Heal fast boys.

A couple months ago I tripped racing my 9 hr old and busted a chip off my patella.
It was achy, but not bad, and knew something was outta wack beyond a bruise and saw the doc on day 12.
Xray, MRI to make sure no soft tissue issues (Ortho doc is a top end sports medicine guy)

Right after it happened, it was pretty sore that day and I was on the couch with an ice pack and my awesome kid looks at me and says:

"Pain. Just weakness leaving your body."

I never laughed so damn hard. I always say that when working out and the muscles are fatigued and you know its gonna hurt. So she took a great opportunity. 100% my kid busting chops.
She was on a roll and also noted I wouldnt have tripped if I "wasn't grey haired, old, and fat..." Then I tossed a coaster at her!

Hope all you guys heal up as quickly as possible. I've been lucky, 46 years, one shoulder surgery and that's it so far.

@LawnMM

With your main shooting hand being down, how you doin in the poundin the pud department? Assuming you are married. If you just have a GF, you are covered!

Once had my left wrist in a brace for 12 weeks after a mountain bike crash. Thankful I am a righty.

Still not sure how I survived 8 weeks for my right clavicle at age 14......

Only things I can't really do right now is put weight on it, so nothing like pushups or bench press or shoulder press anything like that is out.

They cut the tendon that puts pressure on the nerve and causes the problems. That relieves the pressure, bueno, but you also wind up with some hyper sensitivity because there's less material between the surface of the skin and the nerve now.

Grip strength is about normal now but finger strength isn't so if I'm trying to lift something heavy (like boxes of fucking Christmas decorations) and I can only get fingers under the box and not the hand I have some trouble because the grasping strength isn't back yet.

We're getting there, just hope it's good to go in a couple more weeks cause I'm looking at February for doing the other hand 🙄

Thanks 👍 save it for the guys with joint replacements and stuff though, this ain't a big deal
