    Here’s my finalized idea for a skmr4.

It’s basically a skmr3 with more subtensions added

Also didn’t start tree until second mil. This frees up more of the center for spotting your hits/misses.

Let me know what you think.

Yea and theirs looks a lot like skmr3 with a different tree.

For whatever reason, my eye really likes the way the .2 and .8 marks run down from the horizontal and the way the .4 and .6 extend upwards as well.

Makes finding .3, .5, .7 very easy and without being cluttered.

I’m kinda hoping not. Had made up my mind on a zco. ?
I mean in regards to a new reticle. Not another scope. If ZCO is all it's made out to be i'd go ahead and jump to that train. The k525i is here to stay i think and is still a great optic despite some of it's short comings. I'm not going to lie seeing Frank's praise and pictures followed with everyone else's opinions makes me have a little buyers remorse now. For $500 more i possibly could've jumped to something along the line of TT. I know i can't get my money back from the K525i though so i'm keeping it. ZCO will have to come later in life.

Yea, if they made a skmr4 that looks like I posted above (basically a skmr with tree in same pattern), I’d be tempted to pick up another kahles.

The zco reticle is as close to perfect as they can get for me unless the skmr took the path above.

I put my k318i up for sale to help fund one. Mainly because it’s never been used, only mounted. So I figure that will fetch more than my used 525.

Also, the k525 isn’t going anywhere.

Keeping the k525i for the 6.5. I'm really happy with it.

I'm waiting out to see ultimately how the zco compares to the TT. I'll get one or the other for the .300 Norma improved.

Updated the pic with some more detail added.

Now I understand why trees don’t match the main windage a lot of times. It’s hard to make the tree look uniform.

I don’t like center dots. Especially tiny ones like on the vortex amp reticle.

Numbers for hold unders please! Rarely use them but sucks when you have to and don’t have them.

This is exactly how I feel about my ZP5. I know I can’t get my money back, and I still love the optic, but I just want to try a ZCO.

You didn't mix .5's and .2's and stayed with .2's except the .1's, good job man.

The thing most anyone I’ve talked to (including myself) seem to really love about the skmr design is how the main windage is very simple, but with the .4 and .6 extending up, it is extremely easy to see where you are.

No need for .5 and such.

And I’ve always wondered, if that’s what everyone likes about it, why didn’t they just keep the same pattern throughout?

I messed around with adding .5’s, but it just gets too cluttered.

I’m going to add the numbers up the vertical as suggested above.

Also going to mess around with only having the even lines on the tree. Skipping the odd numbers. Just to see how it looks with more open area. I’m a less is more type when it comes to reticles.

That’s about perfect. The only thing I would like to see would be a dot at .5 or 1 mil below and left and right of center. Would help with small holdovers and wind before getting into the 2 mil tree

Just to be clear, I meant I'd rather have an all .5 mil reticle or an all .2 mil reticle, rather than .5's and .2's mixed in the reticle, even though I much prefer the .2 mil reticle. It's more cohesive to do so IMO and I don't want to transition from .2's on the vertical crosshair to .5's farther down. If my dope calls for 3.2 mils holdover I want to see in the reticle exactly where 3.2 mils is, not guess where it might be!

I like your rendition at the 4 mil location, it's better than putting them way out at the bar, like on some reticles.

Updated with numbers above the horizontal and also fixed some typo's I found. Working on one with dots and a couple other ideas.

See what you think of this. You'll probably have to zoom in to see dots. I put them at .2 then .5 then .2 .5 and .8

    At the .5 1 and 1.5 respectively.

I think that’s too many. Maybe just .5 and 1.0. Would give quick reference points and add minimal clutter.

    Here's a less obstructive tree
