There's a new kung fu movie where they use a bladed (illegal there) umbrella made of steel that miraculously holds up under repeated heavy blows from a 40lb. halberd type weapon (like a giant scimitar on the end of a 6' steel pole, it's huge). Got into it this morning with a former colleague who lives in London after he sent me a video of the attack. I commented 'This is what happens when you disarm private citizens and take away self-defense capabilities'. He went full fucking retard on me, especially when I suggested the victims of the attack might now feel differently than they did prior to it. Some people just can't have a sensible conversation. And a 20 minute response time for armed police is being heralded as quick. Well done lads! Ridiculous.

I remember when my old man told me we were moving to England and I couldn't take my gun with me because of their laws. I also remember having to put my fists up quite a bit more than in the US.
