And the wind is no joke around here (Cheyenne).

Our wind in Western NC was plenty stout today gusting 35-45.
Strong enough to snatch my truck door out of my hand and cost me some big eagle.

That's probably ordinary there, but we have had wind like that all day today and tonight. I had all kind of shit get fuckered up at my house today. 25-30mph with 40+ gusts here in NC. Obviously not the norm here.

So I figured lets take a pic while I’m driving

I drove out out Denver heading east today, was dusty and windy. I’m planning to shoot in the morning in Eastern Colorado and it’s supposed to be 20mph winds out of the north so I guess I’ll try to learn.

Last spring about this time (maybe March?) I was heading south down I25 between Foco and Denver and there were 70mph crosswinds, I recall a couple semis being blown over on the interstate. When driving by dry land fields the dust cut visibility almost to nothing

Took a motor cycle ride out to the western states early 90s.

The bike was an HD full dresser so it had some surface to catch wind.

Heading west seems like I rode the bike on the left edge of tires, leaning into the wind, and on the way home I had to lean into the right side wearing the tires into a pencil point Im guessing.

The fucked up position ended up blowing a nerve in my right shoulder, most painful thing, only thing that ever had me take an opioid - going to the hospital at 0200 practically begging for "something" when I got home.

Yes the west has wind.

Upstate NY, Rye - Poughkeepsie region tends to get a shit ton of severe thunderstorms every time a spring or summer cold front passes through. This area and northern NJ seems to be a magnet for these storms, and because of it, New York City is always spared from the worst of the squall lines. Each time a front passes through, it is simply normal to see a solid mass of red and purple on the Dopplar screens heading our way.

Everybody that lives in my AO has generators, backup lanterns and chainsaws. Power outages and downed trees are the least of what those storms bring us.

25-50 is just a gentle breeze......

Where I lived in the mtns we would see triple digits about once a month in the winter. Made the house shake. First time it woke me and I thought it was an earthquake......

On Easter we were playing at the park and a big wind came up. Saw the dust and got the kids to close their eyes and mouths up quick. I still got a little grit in my teeth that took a lot of rinsing and brushing to get out.....

That wind causes a lot of accidents.

Living in South Dakota taught me to always park nose into the wind.
We put heavy straps on our USAF work trucks because we would lose a door and fender at least a couple times a year.

I did the same thing from New Hampshire to Sturgis on a Springer Softail, the entire state of Minnesota in a driving rain at a 30 degree left lean to counteract the wind. Pull up along side a 18 wheeler and snap verticle as it cut the wind!

Is that air-born pollen dust? I know that some states down on the Southern Eastern seaboard, have or just had a huge problem with pollen dust in the atmosphere --- The experts are blaming it on global warming --- I've also noticed an extra amount of pollen, recently here in Maryland.

We had wind gusts up to 18 mph at our outdoor range today here in Maryland. I also learned a lot about shooting my 22lr BSA Martini Mark II International - Vortex PST Viper 5-25x in the wind today.

As stated CO2 contributes to "global warming".
The more in the atmosphere the greater the greenhouse effect.
Mars has a 95% CO2 content in it's atmosphere.
Average temp on Mars is -80 F.
Something isn't "adding" up...

The heavy pollen in the south is an annual occurrence some years it's worse than others, try going anywhere down wind of the Sam Houston National forest when all of the pines are producing.

Funny you say that, cause I was on my way home from a cheyenne at the time. Whoever drew the Colorado/Wyoming line did it where the wind began.

Wyoming I-80 closes regularly to light high profile trucks because of the winds pushing gusts over 50, pretty much a weekly occurrence. Yesterday I was coming across in my car, was pushing well over 40 mpg from the tailwind in a car that typically gets 32 on the highway any other day.

"Light" wind days in Wyoming are 12-15mph with gusts in the 20s. Oh, and over half a foot of snow coming to open May. There's a reason even the pronghorn don't birth until mid-late May.
