So last week, local to me, there was a 3 year old boy that was under the care of his great grandmother along with his 2 siblings. They went out side the play in the yard, only the 2 oldest came back. The house is located in a wooded residential area. For 3 days and 2 nights, the boy was missing. It rained 2 inches one day, and got down to 19deg that night. Over 400 volunteers, law enforcement, and search and rescue dogs were searching day and night for the boy. On the 3rd day, one of the volunteers heard a boy crying and calling out to his mother. The boy was found 50 yards away from the home, allegedly stuck in a briar patch. When they got to the boy, the first things he asked for was Wendy's french fries and wanted to watch netflix. He then proceeded to tell them that a bear came and kept him warm. Craven County, NC has more black bear per square mile than anywhere else in the US.

Now, details have emerged that a registered sex offender lives 4 houses down. When he was approached by LE and was questioned, the boy was then found 6 hours later. That fact has not been mentioned in the news, i only know this from a LE friend that was involved in the case.

So... We are suppose to think that this 30 lb 3 year old survived in 19 deg weather while soaking wet for 3 days and 2 nights all because a fucking bear decided to keep him warm and not eat him as a snack.

    My questions are:

    1. If he was found 50 yards from the house, how could no one hear or find him for 3 fucking days
    2. How the hell did the search and rescue K9's not find him? (i train police K9's and have done tremendous amounts of human odor training)
    3. So if he was caught in a briar patch and a damn bear came and kept him warm, how did the bear get into the briars to keep him warm, then get out of the briars and not make a way for the boy to get out?
    4. Pretty convenient that soon after the cops talked to the perv, the boy shows up 50 yards from the house unharmed and no hypothermia?
    5. If said story is true, when are they going to let this 3 year old start BUDS training b.c thats some cold shit to endure.
    6. Where is the damn bear? All those people where out there looking and nobody saw a bear at all.

This whole story smells like shit.

Holy shit. This is something that urban legends are made of.

Very similar to this gem that was forwarded to me by someone on Reddit before. Fictional but still unnerving as shit:

    https://www.creepypasta.com/fuzzy/

Makes a good case for carrying a holstered pistol inside your house too, especially if you live in the sticks.

PS: Do a blood test on the child to see if there are drugs present in his system. Very likely that he had been given something to ingest or inhale that made him hallucinate..............OR the POS was wearing a fucking bear furry suit. Seems like a search warrant might be in order.

AND............Here is even MORE cause for concern: According to the Yellowstone National Parks site, black bears go into hibernation around late November and their denning period lasts around 5 months. Somebody's going to have to explain this...If he did it, he'd better step the fuck up and 'fess up now. Much safer to be sitting in a cell in the Sheriff's office waiting for trial. It is just too easy for someone to "get lost" in the woods and never be found again. Just sayin'...

Difference about the bears here in NC, they don't hibernate. Doesnt get cold enough. They're always out and about.

No. I have a 3 year old and they look to be the exact same size. About 30-33lbs

Ah. I see...But the fact that an entire army of volunteers was out searching, over such a wide area, and many of the searchers being professional LE and rescue personnel........And nobody has seen a bear.

All of the arrows are still pointing right at that guy, lit up with neon lights too.

Probably was an evil human involved in it & no bears at all.
That being said, since the bad guy didn't kill the kid & let him go, perhaps we take it easy on them & give them the opportunity to "do the right thing" on their own before anyone else has to "help" them.

    No.
They would have done that before touching a kid if they had a heart.
They are certifiable and uncureable. Well, at least alive.
Obviously cant count on him (guessing its a dude) to make the right choice.

    Also just as a thought.
Pretty sure if your 18 and get popped for statutory for having sex with your 16 year old gf, you can land on the list too. Not sure how the laws vary from state to state. Some also require a greater than 5 year age difference.
Not sure one can tell from the sex offender registry.

I found this article fishy as well, I just recently moved from Craven County, I lived there for 22 yrs, and yes there’s black bears there.. If a bear kept him warm, that was the good Lord at work, if a sex offender kept him warm, I have a chain and a bumper on my old truck, and we’re gonna drive slow.. Let’s just say I know Craven County backroads pretty well

A slow drive down Cow Pen Landing Rd may be in order

My question is: have the police searched the Pedo's house for a bear suit?

I thought the same thing. I bet if he had one, it's burned by now

Shit, that sick bastard didn’t burn it. He’ll have that thing as a momento to the end of time.

Probably has a Realtree pattern to it too.

I worked investigating crimes against children. I see a couple of things that need consideration. The kiddo may be making up the bear story to hide what really happened (a mental self-defense) Was anything found inside pedo's house? At least in my state, pedos give up a huge amount of rights and police can pretty much search anything, any time. Drugs would certainly be a factor in the bear story too.

Id say give the investigators time. Complicated cases take time and you have to fully build everything. That last thing LEO wants on one of these is some POS getting off for poor investigations or a technicality. What the public knows is usually less than what is actually going on behind the scenes.

He needs to get a visit from daddy, friends.. waterboarding heals the lack of memory if he has not skipped town yet. Should have checked the child for signs of penetration.

Damn, this got super-dark with that last word.

Grim reality of the world that we live in man.......If there is any sign of abuse on the child, shit should just be solved the old school rural way...Tie the perp to a tree and put one through his liver. He will have plenty of time to reflect upon what he's done before meeting the Lord.

    Buzzards got to eat too.

The Bear story might even be a way to protect the child from internet abuse.
Media stories get twisted. Maybe on purpose.

It is true, media stories get twisted all the time...But I truly hope that those who do the twisting fully understands that a good portion of people reading them, especially on Internet forums, are very capable of reading between the lines, think critically and draw hypotheses from available facts.

Over the last 6 years, I have personally seen major news outlets from the local to the international level disable and remove comment functions on their websites. That is because people have been calling them out on their bullshit. There is nothing like a shot of logic injected into any published piece that gets people thinking. To the talking heads, this is JUST as undesirable as having guns in the hands of the citizenry.

    It actually happened in Ernel.

I dont even know if said "sex offender" was a kiddie toucher. Like someone said above, could be a case of, dude was 18, gf was 16 and her parents pressed charges. Also could be a super predator. Idk. I hope the case isnt closed. Ain't no way that kid survived those temps in a wet wind breaker jacket.

True that, I’d like to know who would let a great-grandmother babysit their 3yr-old son?? My son is 4 and if this would ever happen to him, I would never be able to forgive myself - hopefully they get everything resolved-Good news is that he’s alive and back with his mama and diddy

Yup. They hate comments. Can't have people posting truth that doesn't fit the narrative
