Just snagged one of these with a 24 inch barrel. Adjusted trigger down to 2#, mounted the Steiner 5-25 in a Spuhr mount and got to the range. Barrel now has 45 rounds on it. Load is 140gr ELD over 40gr H4350. Targets at 100m, 5ea. Pulled one on the top. I'm impressed so far.

Break in process was: unbox, wet patch, dry patch, go shoot.

Hornady brass. I get lucky every now and again. Could go out tomorrow and shoot way worse

Is yours really slow? All of them I've seen are. At 41gn my gun only produces 2616fps. The throat on mine is LONG: 140gn ELD seated so that junction of bearing-surface/boattail is even with neck/shoulder junction has the bullet jumping .060". I have to load 43gn H4350 in order to get the same velocity I get from my 42gn load in my .170" freebore gun. It's right at 100fps difference.

My TacA1 is taking ~43.2gr H4350 to get the 140rdf’s up to average around 2715fps. I took it up to 44.0gr and get to around 2780 fps. In hornady cases seated long.

Factory hornady 140 eld M ammo is averaging 2680fps and the factory federal 130 Berger load was around 2780fps.

Temperature outside being 30-50degF.

Kinetic- they are five shot strings.
I don't have a chrono at the moment. Recoil is pretty light however.

I had this posted in another thread. Easy to copy and paste for chrono info.

Jefe: How far are you seating off the lands? I'm quite a bit longer at 2.273 CBTO for .020" off.

Using Hornady 1x fired brass I also haven't been able to (likely unneeded just yet) bump the shoulders.

that Tikka Tac A1 has a 0* rail but I want 20MOA. what other than Spuhr mounts would you recommend?..

My Tac A1 is sitting on the dining room table in the box, optic is in the mail.
Love seeing this post! ?

2.188 and 2.242. Lans are at 2.31 full stop or 2.29 just touching. Which I believe is too long for the mag. I'm so new to loading that my COAL measuring skills are still novice.

Both measure at CBTO.
