  • UPDATE- Link to the preorder is HERE. I'm going to set 30 as the target number for us to send to production. I set the stock on the site to 30 so you can monitor the progress. If it shows backorder that means they are already in production so go ahead and order one! If we don't reach that by the end of Feb we will issue refunds to anyone that doesn't want to keep waiting. I am hoping we get to 30 much sooner than that though.

My old AICS Savage is just a Savage but it has sentimental value and is stupid accurate and smooth. I’ve always wanted an AI style bolt handle for it but have never seen one. As with most things if I can’t find it I try to make it!

I’m pretty happy with what I have so far and just need to make a few tweaks to the design. Is this something others would be interested in? Getting one of these made is stupid expensive, like $400. Getting a pile of them made makes it easier to swallow but I only need 1 lol. Anyone else interested? Price would have to be in line with the Sterk Tikka handle around $100. They would be steel and black.

    Much appreciated!

Always wondered how long it would take that handle style to migrate to other platforms. Following for more

I went ahead and set up a preorder so we can have a hard number of who is in. I set the stock to 30 so you can monitor the progress. If it shows backorder that means they are already in production so go ahead and order one! If we don't make it to 30 we will issue anyone a refund that wants one at the end of Feb. If you want one spread the word and get some Savage guys in here to buy one! I am ready to have a steel on rather than this 3d print that I am tempted to try to run and break lol.

    Preorder is HERE.

The bolt handle looks great, very nice work.

I'm really tempted to get at least two but would like to hear your feedback on cycling the bolt. It seems the force/pressure will now be further behind the bolt when cocking (hope that makes sense). It probably won't be an issue and could help! Any chance the 3d print will hold up to a few cycles?

Yea I can run it gently with the 3d print. It runs fine. It does go pretty close to the scope when fully lifted but the shape and the ball make it easy to run with a hand on the outside of it. I actually think it’s more ergonomic than a straight handle. One tweak is going to be angling down just a bit more to get a little more clearance when fully lifted.

Maybe I’m alone on this one but what are the chances of doing a run for Vudoo rifles ?
Or know how to sweep a stock Vudoo handle

what all is involved in making a run for savage rifles ?

I just used a savage handle for reference and modeled it in software. Spit out a model and have it 3d printed a few times until it's gtg. Then pony up for a run on CNC!

I've never seen a vudoo handle but if comes off like a Savage handle it shouldnt be too hard. If it's permanent like a rem 700 handle not so much.

No takers yet you guys start grabbing so we can get these to production!

I guess I didn’t think about it fully. The handle is attached to a 2 piece bolt. Similar to R700 but split in the middle where the lugs are.
I’ve contemplated bending the stocker, but worried I’d get the angle wrong ?

I know it's an old thread but I'm interested in getting one of these for my 110
We had a ton of people show interest but not many signed up for the pre-order so we abandoned it. I still wanted one so ended up getting one 3-D printed with a steel alloy of some kind and it’s pretty solid.

This rifle has a lot of sentimental value and it’s am absolute hammer. I love being able to out shoot someone with a savage so why not make it a straight ghetto AI 😂 I haven’t run the handle hard yet to see how it holds up but it feels pretty damn strong. This may be an option for smaller runs with a little refinement.

Where do I get one of these 3D printed ones? I'd love to do some R&D.

I had emailed about this and I’m still very interested. I’d be curious how the 3D printed ones hold up but I’m 100% in if the plan was to produce it the in the original way posted
