I’ve been looking for a RRS BTC pro clamp for my Atlas for awhile now but can’t seem to find one in stock. I know Area 419 makes a similar clamp, but I don’t think theirs also clamps on a pic rail. Is there anything out there that clamps on Arca and pic?

Sorry on being out of stock man. We have them in the machines now, and itll be off to anodizing a little after that. Should be to peoples homes in 3 weeks or less. We made new knobs/new design to give people more leverage and it slowed up our normal supply along with some big orders. To answer your question I don't think there are others since it is a licensing issue.

Thanks for the heads up man, I’ll wait and keep an eye out.

Mike high has the rrs btca with soar clamp release in stock. It’s quite a bit more than the btc pro but I just got one and it’s really nice like all the rrs gear.

Ugh that feeling I have to wait, can’t just pop over to the store get what I want. Do they have a picture of the new look? MPHReallyRightStuff

Perfect can I order one directly from you?

will you be able to retro the new knob on the old ones? That is my one gripe, you cant get it tight enough.

@MPHReallyRightStuff any pics of the new knob? I'm in agreement with the others, I love the clamp but a little more leverage on the knob would be great.

Do we have to send the clamp in to get the retrofit, or can we do it ourself at home? I might just order the new one if it means I'm not without my mount for a couple weeks.

    Thanks!

Is the SC-LR kit will work with gen2 atlas cal?

It does, you need their adapter also for it to work.

I just ordered the adapter and the SOAR lever release clamp combo and it says in the description it will not work with my CAL. Lawn it looks like it’s working for you??

Yes we can switch out the knob, yes you ll be able to order it online. You can order it now. http://soar.reallyrightstuff.com/BTC-Pro-Clamp-for-Atlas-Bipod
Actually everyone that already has one ordered got the upgrade at the original price. So raise a glass to you lucky bastards.

Glad to hear the knob is getting redesigned.. that is my only gripe. Link some pics when you get a chance.

Looking for another BTC-Pro. If I order through the RRS site, will I get one off the next run? Or should I look to some of your distributors?

I'll tell you what...you don't have to worry about it not being tight anymore...and the spring action works to re-position the lever. Should have been like this from the start.

I have one on my CAL too.

I don't like the SC-LR because it moves the bipod down too far. I want it forward and as high as I can get it.

I need to know too. I have one on backorder through B&H but can always cancel and order direct if there's any chance of waiting for months.

The new version is up on RRS’ site now. Pretty much what I thought it would be. I need to reach out to them to inquire about an upgrade.

Wish they would make the knob all black. Not a fan of the silver. Going paint mine once I get it. Minor details I am complaining about though.

Works fine, zero interference with the Gen 2 Cal, can't speak for Gen 1, didn't have the clamp at the time.

Sorry it took us so long to get a picture up. We upgraded it for the btc-pro and hc-pro both.

How many of you guys would rather have black? Only those of you that want black please hit the like button so I can gauge interest.

We increased the price by 5$ since it is not just a simple turned part now. Adding anodizing to it wouldn’t be to much of an up charge probably. I’ll let you know after I see interest.

For those asking for an upgrade we would prefer to do it our selves, I haven’t worked out the cost yet for that yet. Reason why we want to do it is to time it to the minimum and maximum 1.5” dovetail spec and picatinny spec so it is as close to drop in as possible.

Don't care if it's pink.. if I place an order tonight on your website, when will I get it?

Can you give us more details on how to do that?
The bolt/knob is only held on with lock tight. Wrap the knob with electrical tape and a rag, put some pliers on it, and remove the knob.

Take bolt/knob to Home Depot, put it in their bolt size finder, and get a package of new bolts longer than you think you’ll need. Get the package that comes with a few nuts as well. Also, grab a tap from the tool section the same threads as the bolt you buy.

When you get home, put two nuts on the bolt, tighten them against each other, and put it in a vise. The nuts protect the threads.

Cut the head off of the bolt (longer than you think you’ll need) and get a small file to slightly taper the end of the freshly cut bolt. Remove the nuts.

When you get the Harris lever (mine is the Caldwell) you will get two inserts. Using the insert that has the smaller opening, run the tap into the threads.

Put it all together and test for function. If you need to remove a little more, take it apart, put the nuts back on, cut, file, reassemble.

Once you get it sized right, apply a small drop of lock tight to the end you screw into the RRS plate, reassemble, and let it dry. Shoot and enjoy.

Sorry I can’t remember the sizes but it’s easy to find at Home Depot using the thread thing in the hardware section.

Update. I sent my clamp to RRS soon after the updated knob was mentioned. I just got an email today with the invoice for $21. The clamp should be making its way back to me shortly.
    $15 knob $6 shipping

Looks like the new knob will be just fine. It’s smidge larger than the Area 419 knob.

@MPHReallyRightStuff the new knob looks great, I’m looking forward to getting the new BTC-Pro that I ordered. Then I’ll send my current one in for the swap.

I agree with others that a black knob would be awesome, but ultimately it’s no big deal.

I have one on my Harris, the new knob is fantastic. lots of surface area to get good torque

Tried to backorder the new BTC, no dice, website said to check back later.

When I placed my order last week, I hadn't seen this thread and didnt notice the new knob. That's awesome.

Any plans on doing one for the accutac bipods? The inability to throw theirs on a pic and rrs rail is the only reason I didnt get the new br4 G2.
