I scooped up a 5-25x56 Limited Edition PMII last week with a Tremor2 reticle and just wanted to share some pics and initial impressions.

It’s obviously a bit larger than the Viper PST that I’ve been using for the past couple years, but that’s to be expected. Don’t know what to do about my rattle can job, cause I’m not gonna spray paint this thing. Though I might also be shooting a gasser next year so it could end up on that.

Fit and finish is top notch. I like the Pantone color in person, wasn’t sure if the online photos represented it well or not. I did order a Pantone sunshade from Milehigh and the color seems a bit off from the scope. Not far enough off for me to suspect that it’s RAL8000, but it’s not spot on.
Diopter focus adjustment has smooth resistance to it, I doubt it’ll move on its own.
The parallax is adjustable from 10m to 1000 and beyond. It is the lightest tensioned adjustment on the scope, and feels really smooth. All of my window glassing into the backyard has been easy and it’s quite precise.

The listing for this scope, and every other LE PSR that I have found says it comes with the MTC. This does NOT have MTC which makes me happy. The clicks and smooth and consistent all the way around, no clunks at Mil intervals. The only resistance comes at one full rotation when passing over into the second turn. This also pops up the second rotation indicator on the elevation turret.
Elevation and windage are both locking turrets which are easy to operate.

I have heard some mixed opinions about the Tremor2 reticle, and my current thought on it is that it’s awesome. I’ve done a couple crash courses in it and I think the layout and features such as wind dots and the way some of the mil markings are will be super convenient for my shooting style. I do a lot of holdovers at PRS style shoots, and the precise measurements in the reticle will be great for unknown range targets.
The magnification range seems nice, though from 5-6.5 the field of view kinda goes out the window.
The illumination is dim, as I’ve heard others say. But it seems perfectly fine to me. I’ve only ever used illuminated reticles in dim situations and commonly find myself using the lowest settings. (aside from NV settings) So I think the illumination levels are nice. The dots are super crisp and have no glare. I did my best to take what picture I could of them.

I’m looking forward to getting this thing mounted and put it through its paces!

I realize this isn’t much more than an unboxing review, but I hope it was nice for someone :)

Anymore updates/reviews on this scope?
I’ve only been to the range a few times with it, but so far I love it. Gonna give it a solid workout this weekend at the Bushnell Elite Tactical Sniper Challenge, a three day match in SC. Weather will be all over the board, with 30miles of rucking with full gear I’m bound to smash this into something or get it covered in mud and rain, so I’ll post back!

Yea the shield throws me off for sure. It’d be tough to work up nerve to remove. It’s first big glass purchase for me. Chewing on NF 7-35 and it hard

If you are considering removing the badge, be aware that some of these scopes have pristine markings underneath, and some have had the markings defaced at the factory. I removed the badge from mine with fishing line, which worked great by the way. Underneath I found the factory markings had been partially removed, apparently with a Dremel tool, leaving the rough, raw metal exposed. In spite of this, it’s a great scope.

Mine had the military markings too. That’s what they ground off, leaving my scope looking like it has a bad case of road rash. The thing that really pisses me off is that these scopes were listed for around $3800 when I bought it. Some other PM II 5-25’s were discounted to about $2400 at that same time. I guess I not only paid a premium for the Horus reticle, but for the factory “distressed” finish, and limited edition brass bandaid as well. Even so, it’s an awesome optic. I couldn’t bring myself to send it back for a refund, but I wouldn’t pay full price for another one without knowing that the finish was intact.

Previous owner had the badge removed on mine. Has NSN underneath. I'd much rather see that NSN than that badge. I do have the badge though.

At the end of the day its your typical Schmidt. Top quality optic.

How did challenge go? Crazy weather over weekend

The match was awesome! Quite a challenge physically. My 70+lb pack got pretty old long before the 30miles was done. Scope worked amazing all weekend. Temp swings from 75-45deg, rain, fog, mud and dust, several good bangs from my pack hitting the ground hard and the scope kept its zero. Functioned just the way I would expect something of this caliber to.

Also, I’ve heard about some of the markings being jacked up under the badge and it makes me wary of removing it. I would love to, but I don’t want it to be jacked up under there. Worse case scenario I guess I could always toss some adhesive back on the badge and put it back.

Yea that would be expensive experience..guess it depends on how bad it bugs you.

How much are they going for now? Was always thinking of getting one for my MRAD but I hate the MTC turrets.

Euro Optic has them listed for $2999. The Limited Edition doesn't have the MTC on the elevation turret. It does have the MTC only at the zero mark on the windage turret.

I don't use mine very often but if I remember correctly it does not have MTC turrets. There is a "hard click" (MTC like) on 0 on both windage and elevation but not ever full mil. I will look tomorrow and verify.

As for what they are going for.. I'm not sure. I'd like to know if the value has gone up. I will likely hold on to mine for a long while seeing as Schmit rarely does limited production runs.

For those that took off the medalion/emblem, what number was on your medalion out of the 300? Curious to see if there is a trend of which ones where left alone vs others being blacked out and others totally fucked. OP's was 219/300 and blacked out.

They don't deface all of them. At least the one that's blacked out looks neat and uniform. Here's what they did to mine.

Curious to know what number you guys had!
That sucks gents. Mine is perfectly fine. I'll try to get around to posting a picture here soon.

Have you tried to clean off the black paint?

I would be pretty sad if i bought a 3000$ scope, removed the ugly ass emblem, only to discover that some trainee went full retard with a dremel…

I'm guessing they are hit or miss if yours is that low of a number. @Shanerbanner10 said his was perfectly fine underneath but unsure of his number. Weird thing is some have different information covered/destroyed. Not really consistent. Been wanting to find one of these scopes and gamble on how it looks underneath.

My understanding, from talking with S&B, is that the blacked out markings are not simply painted over. The markings are milled off and then filled with the black material. I wasn’t happy about the appearance of my scope after the emblem was removed, and after speaking with S&B, they said they weren’t happy with it either.

They didn’t want that level of “craftsmanship” to represent their brand. They said only a few made it out the door in the condition my scope was in. They explained that these first few were “de-milled” in Germany, the rest were done here, in the states.

At any rate, they said they would like to have the scope back, and in return, they would replace it with a new scope built to my specifications. I agreed, and they even let me upgrade to the 3-27x56 High Power for the difference in price between the two base scopes. Solid CS.

Talk about good CS.

That IS awesome customer service! If they're taking orders, I'll go ahead and do the USMC 3-12x50 PMII with Gen 2 Mil-Dot and all the NSN, M8541 and QR markings 😂
