Just saw that on thier Facebook page. Looks like there’s grid north of the main crosshairs ?

There's still hope, this is just a teaser

I'm going to be torn between a 5-25 PMII or 7-35 Atacr to try next

At first peak looks a little AMRish, with the vertical dots off to the side of the vertical stadia. SHOT is going to be the year of updated gridded reticles. Should be fun looking through them all!

I sure hope that picture is off and the center of the reticle isn't above the centerline ala h37.

Please delete the grids above the centerline.

I don't mind the amr but can we just get like, an msr2 with a gap g2 style tree? Or an skmr3 or mr4 clone?

Please s&b????

Interesting dotted squares with a dot in the centre. If it’s a solid reticle I might just go a 5-20 ultra short then instead of a 4-16 atacr with the xt reticle.
All these new and good reticles is exciting. Shame leupold can’t pull their finger out and offer their impact reticles in Mils in their top tier scopes.

Starting to reveal more

-S&B Facebook post
“For our Christmastree it is time to leave us today, isn't it?

The popular 0.035 Mil main crosshair line thickness of the P4 Fein has been retained throughout the subtension details of the GR²ID reticle.

•Elevation numbers are provided in 1 Mil increments on both sides of the grid to reduce time in searching for holdover references.

• The Ballistic Grid pattern has been designed to cover the ballistics of a 308 175gn @ 2580fps in a full value 25 mph crosswind out to 900m. More efficient calibers such as 6.5mms or 6mms extend the usefulness of the grid out past 1,100m.”

Looks like an abbreviated Horus reticle without that silly mosquito net extending for 30 mrad down. Off hand, it is not my favourite design out there, but might work just fine.

Reticle selection is the main reason S&B scopes seldom show up in my recommendations. This is a very interesting development for me. At the pace they move, I doubt we will see any scope with it any time soon, but I'll keep an eye out.

I always start by holding left edge, so I wish the center of the reticle had a left-sidded bias as well... J/K

Huge swing and a miss in my opinion. Even looking at that picture briefly, my eye naturally centers on the circle, about 2.5 MILS low

I don’t hate it but I don’t love it. Is a bit strange with the grid above the horizontal line and how wide it is. I still think Burris put out the better reticle of the three coming out at shotshow (nightforce, burris and SB).
It’s good enough though that I’ll consider SB now instead of overlook them because of reticle choices.

Curious who Schmidt consulted for this one, maybe in real world application it will be just fine but looks a bit too busy at first glance, looks like a center dot, but curious how much will be illuminated. Still love the MR4!

I already have contacted them for a reticle swap. My only hope is that they won't charge all the extra fees like they do for Horus reticles. A reticle swap that costs $1000 might as well just come in a new scope.

Is that the going rate for a reticle swap??

Past costs a have been around $400 to $500 for the reticle swap, but then depending on the Tremor or Horus reticles, they carry a price for themselves too. When added all up and after shipping, it could easily be up to $1k for a reticle swap.

At that point, it would be better to buy new. Even a used optic at a reduced price plus a reticle swap comes out about the same as a new optic.

At least with buying new, your 20 year warranty starts fresh.

Yep, that's what I got quoted also for change a H37 (huge mistake) to a H59 or MSR (what I should have done in the first place).

Ended up just selling the optic instead, which also took forever. Can't blame them - H37 is a hideous abomination and people know that.

Got the quote today. I was flabbergasted and the price point quickly made up my mind that if I am to ever own this reticle, it would be in a new scope. 1/3 price of a new scope for a reticle swap is high, but maybe priced that way to deter from having to perform the actual swap.

Yep. no doubt they are definitely "proud" of the process. Hefty on the labor side, but the amount of re-calibration and man-hours required is understandable. (People like Jerry at S&B deserve the pay-grade honestly). Really unless one has some sentimental attachment to an optic the economics don't work out.

Schmidt & Bender at the Media Day. Quite some winds out here. Perfect conditions for trying out the new GR²ID reticle. Looking at 955 yards at 15 power.

Interesting to compare with SKMR3 and the new Tangent Theta reticle.I have the Khales and the TT scopes and still like the SKMR3 better than the new TT reticle andboth better than whatI see above for my”old fart’s eyes.
Thanks for the picture!
Cheers and good shooting!

It doesn't look as bad as I thought it would, but the .w windage hash look too small and subtle. Kinda hard to see at full mag much less 15x. At least in the pics I have seen, maybe it's better with an actual through scope view

The smallest they use is .035. So it should be fine down to 10/12x.

I’m not a fan of the layout, but there shouldn’t be any issue seeing it.

Not so much the thickness I kinda mean how long the .2 wind marks are. Kinda looks like it starts to blend to the main line.

Looks like a very German response to,

“The Americans want more dots...”

I’m slow... did someone confirm the actual cost of a reticle swap for this new reticle??

I’m specifically wanting to know what this reticle will cost. Looks like someone is asking.
If it’s really $500 I’m in

Reticle is only available in 5-25. That will be a hiccup for a lot of people with 3-27.
