Sooooo fat people gonna have to pay for their medical issues the full amount? How about gang bangers that come in with bullet or stab wounds? Hoes and abortions?
Exactly!! We routinely pay for people's shity life choices. Aids, obesity, rampant drug use......but we're guna put our foot down on people that don't Vax. Great idea comrade 🖕

Actually I think if you make poor decisions you should pay for them regardless of the reason. Why should I pay for someone who lives off McDonald's and suffers congestive heart blockage. Or Buddy who gets hooked on heroin. Accidents are a different story.

Slippery slope, you are talking about a shot that is still not fully FDA approved, with your logic it would be easy to do the same for proven things like smoking, drinking, over weight. Then it would still only harm those who work and have private insurance all those on the dole would still get free treatment. How about get full FDA approval and quit playing politics with the stats. Let people make informed decisions.

And what if its not a poor decision to not vax? I suppose time will tell, but its a bit early to say either way, don’t you think?

If you have a serious adverse reaction to being vaccinated, should I be forced to foot the bill? I’ll pass

I will happily pay for my own healthcare if I don’t have to pay taxes to keep paying for all the sick train wrecks that refuse to change their lifestyle

Was just about to post similar. If you stroke out after the vaccine, should you be forced to pay for that out of your pocket? You knew the risk...
    OP is a flawed premise.

There seems very low instance of that but much higher risk of serious complications for those who dont. Thats not really the point.

If youre driving fast and I warn you the bridge is out one mile ahead and you wreck your car, should I have to pay for it?

Besides, I posted this more or less tongue in cheek knowing the reactions that would come.

So if i get the vaccine and I still GET COVID-19 (delta, or WTF ever) or any side effects, they pay me the cost of hospitalization?

    That seems fair...... Right?

This is an instance that this patient shouldn’t have to pay anything, but neither should tax payers. The company that made the shot should be liable, this is an experimental vaccine after all. And there is a very good chance the patient didn’t know anything about any adverse reactions. They were probably told by their dr, or even the nurse, some mindless talking point that was relayed by a drug rep or cnn

Heh, well reality is the bridge isn’t really out ahead. So there’s that. Just a bunch of democrats claiming it so does not make it so.

I'd be happy if we got rid of handicapped parking passes and scooters for the obese at this point. A walk from the parking lot and around the grocery store isn't going to hurt any...

    You're asking a lot, Maggot.

Why is not getting an experimental, non-FDA approved mrna injection a poor life decision? An arrogant assumption, (by you, the author or both) to think it's your way or the highway. Personally...I'm fed up with being preached to by smug, self-righteous people that think it's their duty to tell me what the fuck to do.

Go OBEY somewhere else...and mind your business when you get there.

You don't know what the instance of serious complications are (neither do I) because little has been published, and it is a sure bet that whatever numbers are published will be suspect in an environment where there is a huge political push to have everyone take it.

    That is likely true.

Already had covid, beat it and no ill after effects. My immune system will mount a better defense than what the vax will provide so I'll take that option. Wish my hospital would see it that way.

Who is the arbitrator of poor decisions? I know plenty of people that would say playing with guns is a poor decision.....if you get injured while shooting or reloading, that's on you?

I know plenty of people that shouldn't be on the road driving. I could easy say it is a poor decision for them to be behind the wheel. When something happens, they are on their own?

We can travel pretty far down this road, but you get the point.

I think your theory is seriously flawed. How about we live as free people and the same free people can decide if they want to insure the other free people......you know.....as free people.

Might as well go ahead and give up on using lack of fda approval as a reason to not take it, unless fda approval will change your mind on the safety of the vac. There's about a 0% chance this shit gets injected into 100 million plus people and the fda comes out and says it failed stage-whatever trial - not approved. Maybe J&J, but doubtful. No way their rna/dna golenchild vac's don't get approved.

At 71 I figured the J&J was the way to go as its a traditional type vaccine and likely safe. I didnt even feel the shot and 0 reaction.. Personally, Id not take the others, and deal with the outcome what ever it was.

Personally I think the medical world would be better without it. Doctors pharma and insurance just circle jerk us to death. You honestly think these people want to cure you?? No money in that. I'm currently surround by forest fire due to years of shitty forest management. Think anyone on the fire gravey train really wants to put it out?? No money in that either. Money money money......all that matters to most.

I dont know about eliminating insurance, though it is just a form of gambling in whch you only win if you lose, but demanding fiscal responsibility would help. I get medicare and pay the premium for supp. coverage. You'd be amazed by how much the medico's charge that gets whittled down by the insurer's.

My only point is a lot of people use 'comrade' as a pejorative while enjoying the benefits of communist institutions. And, if you think that health insurance isn't communistic (it is literally "the many paying for the one"), you are wrong...

Id'd have to disagree with that. Youre free (at least for now) to buy it or not (unless Obama says so), thats free market capitalism..

Its closer to gambling where the only way to win is to lose. If you pay premiums all yuor life and stay healthy, you lose.

If you pay them and get sick and cost the insurance co. millions, you win.

And, you can choose to join or not join a union. That does not make a union any less communist. Health insurance combines shared costs with collective bargaining. It’s not gambling, it’s just plain ol’ communism…

I dont see unions as communist, at least not in their inception. They were a response to the horrors of the labor practices. Look up 'Company Store'.

There is a massive difference between 'communism' and collective bargaining to protect yourself from unscrupulous practice.

So who, exactly, decides accident, life choice and other classifications?

The perhaps the government could do this for us….

Its almost as if its not about the vaccine at all, its just about control....

My point was more if it never existed. Capitalism 101....you can only charge what the market will bear. Realistically this debate will always be unwinnable for anyone. At the end of the day we ALL lose. Life, freedom or money...
for some of us it'll be all three.

As I said above....it's a crappy system. Greed and money are the driving factors. If I could give the doc a couple chickens to lance the boil on my ass, that'd be great. Unfortunately that ain't our world. The comrade remark was aimed at the point of the post. Get jab....the collective will provide. Fight the system and you'll be left out in the cold.
