You vintage guys will appreciate this somewhat snipery AR-60 that I built. A fully transferable M60 will go for upwards of $65,000 (RIA has one on it's auction site now) while a semi-auto version goes for $14,000. So...I built an AR-60. This is an Airsoft all metal M60 that has been modified with 5.56 AR-15 innards. I have about 60 hours of work into this...five 12 hour days. I literally had to mill, machine, alter or fabricate every part of this gun (with the exception of the trigger group and gas tube). The AR was milled to become a side charger. It is finished in "battle-worn" Cerakote. Pics show an ATN night vision scope on the custom fabricated picatinny rail. It is still magazine fed, the belt being a dummy. Here is a video and some pics. Works 100%, so well in fact I'm beginning to build an m60E4 like the Navy SEALS's use. I'm going to put a binary trigger in that one.

Those air soft are amazing in their detail.

I went to a car crash a few weeks ago and one of the cars was totaled in the back of it I saw an M240B look alike. Owner told me it was airsoft and as he was going to the hospital I told him they would be going to the barracks as his totaled car was no longer secure from weather or theft.

Knowing my coworkers would shit I got some enjoyment pulling it out of the wreck and pulling back the CH to lift the feed cover and check clear.

It was neat how big the eyes got. Kid still hasnt come to pick his stuff up and between the 240, M4 and 1911 Airsoft its got to be a pretty heavy investment. He has all the contact info. Too bad he didnt spend the money on tires as he and the two people he took out would still have their cars.

Great job on the 60. I thought the E3 was great in service. Sure it was kind of a beast but they seemed to run.

Actually Airsoft is pretty cheap. The all metal M60 I used was like $379. The all metal guns are incredibly well built to original spec...many parts will interchange with the original military parts and I have upgraded to military parts in some cases.

That's bad ass! Dad was a door gunner in Vietnam and I would love to have a M60 even in semi auto. My next rifle will be ceracoted in tiger stripe in his honor.

Awesome build Buffalo! I carried an M-60 during my time in, and man do they get heavy. Especially when you and the AG have to pick up and move all the time during live fires.

I'm aware of the semi belt fed uppers...and their price.
I've got less than $800 in my AR -60.

    $370 Airsoft
    39 upper
    39 lower
    80 barrel
    16 grip
    29 parts kit
    25 buffer assembly
    39 brake
    10 gas tube
    100 bolt
    12 picatinny rail

    total 759

It's too bad there is so much liability with making this stuff, you could certainly sell a LOT of these!

That's neat. One of the few guns I regret selling was a US Ordnance semi M60. Got if for $6k and sold for $7k thinking I was making out like a bandit. Pretty much given up on replacing it and have been keeping an eye out for a deal on an Ohio Ordnance semi M240 instead. But I don't think "deal" and these things go together very often.

    Buffalo is at it again...

Thoroughly impressed (in your apparent amount of free time :devilish:;))

Minute of man or what sort of groups are you pulling? :poop: Would assume you could fit a good length barrel in there and wouldn’t be half bad

One of those old school chopped Pigs would be a SWEET piece

    Very nice work!

I was a law enforcement specialist in the USAF. I thought it would be cool to get qualified on the M-60, big mistake as I ended up humping one in the nuclear storage area more than I would have liked.

That pig is effin awesome. Great job sir.

Shooting the AR-M60E3 at 200 yds with crappy ELCAN M145 scope on 1/2 size IPSC silhouette (10"x20")
