Had planned on posting up pictures of how to 7 color Krylon your stock, well a year has gone by so I figured I'd just put them all in a slideshow from brand new to a year later of hard use. 16 matches , over 2000 rounds and plenty of dry fire practice in between.

This should give everyone an idea of what to expect from Krylon when you use your rifle a lot. It did have 3 coats of clear matte finish from the start if your wondering.
I honestly like it just as much today as it was new, probably more because it shows character and the battle scars from the year of competition. When I rebarrel it will probably be time to strip it and start with something new to wear off ;)

Very nice work, on the rifle and video. Much appreciated. How many hours do you have into painting the stock?

Tank, it took pretty much a full day off and on as Krylon dries pretty fast and then another few hours of adding in some of the reverse stencils and clear coat after everything was pulled off.

Video is blocked in some locations for the music used, That's always a sacrifice I'm willing to make because I can't stand the royalty free music Youtube has, Its a bummer but I like slideshows to have music that goes with them.

Thanks for posting....always wondered how well a quality Krylon job held up. Nice paint job!

Great paint... I think it looks better worn. did you ever have the feeling of paint on your face? got a pic of the cheek side.
I used the same paint but never put the clear over it. obviously it wore pretty quick.

Same here I like the battle worn look !!

Love the slide show! First of all, that was a fine camo job to begin with. Secondly, a great slide show (did I say that already?). Thirdly, I hope that you post pictures of your repaint when that happens.

Thanks for sharing.

Appreciate all the kind words !
I'm pretty happy with how the video came out as well, it gives a great life cycle of a Krylon painted rifle that gets used hard.

Its over at RBros Rifles right now getting a new barrel and a complete Cerakote paint job by Travis so it looks good when I go to the Bushnell Brawl ;)
Should have it back this coming week and I'll get some new shots of it for an update.
I'm expecting the Cerakote to last a long time so maybe the "Life of Cerakote" video will have to be a 5 year culmination lol.

Hell of a job, thanks for posting. Would love to do a stock like that, it really came out nice. The wear looks good as well.

Great video as the others have said! Rifle looked great even after the year IMO. Curious as to how the Cerakote will hold up vs the spray paint on a "not so hard" surface like fiberglass on the stock?

I think it looked awesome by the end of the year. Those wear marks tell a story and I think give it character. Great job!
